couple of opponents did a double stalker push and I look at my ally's base, this was pretty early on so I was focusing hard on my own macro
my ally had gone for a one base, two spire, no queen, NO units other than drones, no spine crawlers broodlord rush. I still won, after he had been pasted all over the map, of course. lovely feeling that was
I had one guy try and expand into three armies with only a couple of units, and when I didn't move my units out of our choke into the teeth of a massively superior force, about a minute later he warped in about twenty stalkers (out of his eight warpgates that had until then remained silent) and proceeded to walk across and destroy my nexus, and our third ally's CC then left the game.
We still won. that felt even better.

2v2, the guy made a 3 supply depots wall off before barracks, and his first unit was a marine who came out around the 8m In-game time.

Maybe not the noobiest, but it stuck in my memory. I was playing random 3on3, and I was regularly getting teamed up with some very, very poor players. Then in one game I saw we were playing three zerg, and I knew what was coming next. Yup, they all 6-pooled, and immediately killed our zerg. Meanwhile, the other player - a Terran like me, proceeded to not wall off his ramp, not build a barracks, and build an Engineering Bay quite early.
Considering what I had seen the last few games, my hopes weren't up at this point. I continued to do my usual thing, and didn't really consider that I would be able to win, but just wanted to play it out. Then the other guy finally built a few barracks, constructing a wall for his mineral line, and built a planetary fortress, and started pumping marines, got combat shield, and pushed out. He then proceeded to wtfpwn one, while I - still in shock that what he was doing was working - took care of a second, before we finished off the third together.
It was surreal. To be fair, they were obviously noobs.

The last few hours? How'd the game last that long?

i played random 3v3 once with a friend of mine, and this random team mate of ours was like, if you build u mine gas we will lose. he said "i am a 3v3 pro so i know and i lost the last 3 games cos my noob teammates went to harvest gas. just build gateways and mass zealots and we win." i decided to ignore him and went about my own build then he decided to attack me for mining gas. fortunately he has the micro and macro of a below bronze league player so i held his attack and decimated his base in return later on. my friend and i both diamond players managed to eventually go on and win the game. ( this was in 3v3 placement).

I like to play some 3v3s or even 4v4s from time to time, mainly to mess around and try off-racing. By far the most common thing that happens is some zerg 6 pools and my teammate screams for help because he didn't build any kind of wall at his choke and has no idea how to micro workers against it. So stupid.

played 2vs2 random 1st match: me with p vs tz
p scouts enemy p didnt wall off z did speedling rape p ragequit and obviously we lost that game
next game: i get him as teammate again he chats: "you are the z from last game, right?" then he attacks my main with his probes. Enemy lol'ed, i just cant believe what just happend.
|
2's... he wants DT's so goes... 10 pylon, 10 assimilator, 10 assimilator, 16 pylon ... then cuts probe production and only has 1 gateway still when he got his dark shrine up and some 2 zealots which made him need backup when he first got attacked by some weak attack or like 8 marines...
he follows that up with next game deciding to go zealot/marauder/void ray off 1 base
Actually noobier still... He doesn't understand why i dislike 2's with him.
ah good times

Yeah, that was supposed to be last few games, not hours.

After seeing the stuff in this thread, I feel pretty bad for complaining about the dumb things my friends do - like abandon all ground unit production for a mid game switch to VRs and then ignore armies without much AA so the VRs can base trade, make 4 gates before cybercore, or 4 Gate expand while attacking builds that accumulate a thousand minerals on 1 base - or whatever stupid coop partners do.
|
2v2, Double toss, I start by asking the game plan, my ally responds "zeal rush" so we both 2 gate we each get 3 zeals and run in. Opponent is halfway walled off but we manage to demolish their base anyways, 1 opponent leaves, T opponent lifts his buildings and runs to the corner in a map with no islands so I flame him for a bit and tech up to air. When my cybercore is about done I check to see what my good ol' ally is doing...
He has made some more gateways and is continuing to mass zeals. So I say to him "make some air dude."
He responds "oh I was hoping it wouldn't get to that point."
oO

My RL friend 6pool and stayed in his base. I asked WTF are you doing? Attack.
He reply with, "don't you 6pool to defend?" He was not kidding....

I look at his base and there are 6 Spine Crawlers, his initial Overlord and ZERO Drones ... That is fucking hilarious. Good delivery too.
WHAT. So he did morph a drone.
6 pool (5 drones left) 5,4,3,2,1 Crawlers (0 drones).

once my teammate did nothing but wall himself him and build 2 command centers he pumped a gazillion scvs and wanted to transfer money to me but there was that cooldown we got rushed and lost lol

Guys lifting off to the island expos in 2v2 with terran, i absolutely love theyr way of thinking.. hahaha maybe if i start making scvs 5minutes late ingame and let my partner die.. then i canz killz themz with my BCZZZ

This one time my partner was zerg, and I knew we were doomed. Shortly after the double 6 pool arrived in his base my fears were confirmed...

if hes transfusing or badly needs the AA it cant be too bad

well he's probably heard of the 4-gate ... lol

Team mate attempts a double gas steal... in my base!

PF block the chokes to keep us safe. Try to lift it when it's time to expand. Can't get out, so we kill the PF. 4 armies teching off about 2-3 bases apiece end our lives.

I have a friend (yes it is you Darren) i play with 2v2 and 3v3, and though he isnt a bad player, he reaction time is the worst i have ever seen. for example i will ping and tell him (on skype) thier is a drop going to his main and get there now, my units get there faster than he does and he will lose his nexus. and i will be like wtf y didnt you move, he always says he was doing something else?!? unless i get control from him, which i never get, we genraly lose if they harrass or attack me (if our bases are far away). i know its not that nooby but it still annoys me.
