One that comes to mind is my teammate on a shared base map leaves his supply depots wide open and a whole throng of zerglings rushes in and decimates his workers. he promptly blamed me for not saving his ass. I lifted off and started massing an army at the gold and left him to rot. He was pretty pissed.
Oh no, lol. If you are halfway decent, you will crush through bronze league 4 v 4. I am diamond 4 v 4, and lost all my 3 v 3 matches on purpose so I could see how it was.......and it was pretty sad how easily I could dominate. I would go 2/3 base colossus/gateway, and single-handedly rofl-cruise through all three opponents game after game. I was back in plat in about 20 games. I was something like 23-2, and the only games I lost were games where I would get 6 pooled by 3 zergs on single base maps.

Actually, most teams will have a large attack happening at the 6 or so minute mark.

Yeah but in bronze those attacks consist of like 15 zerglings and maybe 6 marines or a few stalkers and a zealot
not really too hard to hold off with a bunker/FF/spines

Actually, in bronze I generally see: -A 4 gate -MM -Roaches -Zealots -DTs -More MM -Super Fast Tanks (not very common) -Mass speedling.
Played with a friend the other day he just got the game. He lost to mutas the game before so he opened up with an Ebay and circled his base with turrets before doing anything else. Needless to say we lost the game due to being rushed and he blamed me :D.

It was a normal 3v3, he can clearly see the vision of all my units, We're on the same side of the map and he cannon crept all the way to my mineral line with four cannons and then asked why sc2 was bugging out and why his cannons weren't attacking the probes. You could say I was almost as stupid for not noticing what he was doing and stopping him but the other guy and I just though he was being a nice and was trying to make a cannon defensive line.
You could try reporting him and other teamkillers to blizzard. I heard they punish people who blatantly attack their own team.
Maybe one report won't get him punished, but if he does it in many games and lies about "cannons bugging out" then maybe he will get punished.
No, they don't punish these people, or I would've heard something by now.
No word of a lie. I saw a Diamond level (1v1 - 4v4) Zerg a-move lings off one-base into a tank/bunker turtle Terran until he mined out. He then left. No speed-lings either.
had a string of really passive allies lately. I've been trying to end games quickly, so I usually ask if we're rushing, and they usually say yes. I'll do this pretty good 4 gate opening that I've been fiddling with lately and end up with an army twice as big as anyone else's (if the army value graph is to be believed). usually one of my allies will fail it up and not send anything, but me and the other ally still NEARLY break the opponent through our forces alone. I say nearly because for some reason, my allies don't send any reinforcing units whatsoever and just go straight back to droning/building up. I've lost three games tonight where it would've been an easy gg if my allies just sent some sort of reinforcing units, but we ended up losing because my allies got all turtley and then outmacroed.

Same thing is in masters , but mutas to , more fast expands etc
At the end of a rather long game: FFA, 4 players+a computer, but purple killed the computer pretty handily. Red (me): 47 average APM, 60 current (yes, I'm a noob) Blue: 1 average APM, 0 current (wth? Highest APM the whole game was 13) Teal: 34 average APM, 0 current Purple: 35 average APM, 45 current. Blue... His maximum food was 16. He opened: Pylon Forge (really late) One cannon (in base) Pylon outside base Gateway outside base. + Show Spoiler +
He was alive until ~42 minutes lololol
Edit: I know this isnt team games, but I created a party to test my FFA map and I'm gonna count that.
3v3 on cinder fortress, ppp vs tzz. He doesn't even scout the races of the opposing players before deciding where to put his cannons, and he ends up trying to cannon rush one of the Zerg players. He put his forge and inbase pylon near his nexus instead of the big team ramp, so we can't wall it off. Lings start pouring into our bases and we (by we, I mean me and the remaining P) are able to hold them off for a while, but when they get speed, there's just not much we can do. During this entire time, cannon rusher is still trying in vain to cannon the Z, and hasn't built a single cannon or gateway in his main. Speedlings end up running into his mineral line and ruining it, and he leaves the game.
So, let's count the ways in which he fails:
1. Not scouting at all before trying to cannon rush. 2. Trying to cannon rush a Zerg. 3. Not helping wall off the big team ramp. 4. Not building a gateway or any defensive cannons in his base even though he was sitting on 400 minerals.
I checked his profile after the game and he's a high ranked plat 3v3 player and at least plat in everything else. I just don't understand how this happens... I've seen bronzies pull off much better cannon rushes. The worst part is, the other Protoss and I still almost won just through mass gateway units. If mr. fail cannon rush had played normally, it probably would've been an easy win.
Zergs on EU, Y U NO NEVER USE BANELINGS? + Y U ALLWAYS CHEESE? + Massroaches in teamgames are not good. Y U MAKE ROACHES AND NO BANESLINGS? And people in this topic, why u allways blame other people? Have a good night!
Random 2v2 earlier, and my ally went pylon at ramp, pylon next to nexus, pylon next to edge, gateway at ramp, forge at ramp, 4 cannons (!) at mineral line.... all with 12 probes =_= Thankfully one of the opponents went 3 supply then barracks so my 4gate rolled him them over long before my ally could die.
Had a fairly crappy experience today doing 4v4. We're tpzz and our opponents are zztt. One of our z's immediately quits as soon as the game starts. (This happens quite a bit in team matches, at least every 4th or 5th game or so someone just bails for whatever reason: lag? the dog wants a walk? power outage? wuwt?).
So I ask our other z whose base is next to the dropped z to take over the dropped z's base and try to at least build drones, macro some, and build basic defense (a couple of spine crawlers). I figured we would lose the base eventually but we might as well keep it productive as long as possible.
Okay, so our active z makes lings with the dropped z's base and proceeds to knock out two of our opponents with a ling rush. I tell him "Good job!"
The three of us then start taking down the last two opponents. Then things get weird. We push up into their double base (this is on the Outpost map), and one of their players (a Z) quits. So their team is down to one guy (a Z). He pushes us back.
He complains on the All channel about his remaining ally who quit and tells us the usual: The ally complained bitterly that no one on his team ran to his rescue. Okay. So now our last opponent is running two Z bases. He builds ten or so spine crawlers and a bunch of hydras. So we are gearing up to blow into his base.
Then my Z ally attacks me! Starts killing two of my expos with about 15 roaches. It takes me five minutes to start to clean up the mess, start to organize the remains of my forces, medivac a drop of marines into his mineral line and proceed to kill him. I was like, "wtf?" Because we're allies and you can't change sides (I tried) I had to focus kill each of his units and buildings while trying to get my forces organized again. Not fun.
My P ally while all this mayhem is going on does nothing to help me with our wacked out ally but amass sentries (!) to go toe to toe with our opponent's spine crawler and hydra line. A total fail. I mean a colossal, total and utter fail. He didn't build many units after that. There were plenty of unmined bases on the map.
Once I start killing our traitor's base and start to get things back under control, I ask my P ally what he's been doing. From the minimap his forces have been static for 20 minutes. I see no expos, no new extensions of his forces, nothing. He says he's been attacking the enemy, and then he starts pinging the map like a mad man, over and over and over and over, spamming ping!, to the places where he thinks a remaining opponent's lone command center is. I tell him "Okay, okay. Stop pinging."
Then I have to kill our other Z ally's base because the traitorous Z has now started working it. He also runs his last two remaining drones around trying to start hatcheries, which I hunt and kill. He pleads for me to stop. I'm like, you can't be serious. After the stunt you pulled? No effing way. You're dead bee-otch.
The traitorous Z bm's me to the end of the game, a 48 minute game. I only stayed in b/c I didn't want to lose ladder points and I was p!ssed at this clown. I asked him why he attacked and he just typed in all caps "NOO." Idk what was going on. All of his messages were all caps. On his profile his has 1875 achievement points, no games in 1v1, ranked 6th in bronze 2v2 with 41 wins, ranked 31 in 3v3 with 32 wins, and ranked 11 in 4v4 with 99 wins. His total is 565 league wins. This player is not brand new to the game. He's been around. I hate to think how much abuse this player has been dishing out to other allies in those games. Blizzard really needs to punish players like this b/c they decrease the value of the game.
I had a friend tell me of an ally who attacked him in an SC2 team game. He was upset too. I think turning on an ally is one of the lowest things someone can do when you play random teams on SC2.
This is a great thread. Glad there is somewhere to vent about SC2 player's acting badly. Someone on here said that Blizzard takes sabotaging teams seriously and can use complaints about players to take action against their accounts, but when I look at the "report player" options there is only "Spam, Harassment, Real-life Thread, Inappropriate Name, and Cheating." Being a douche and attacking one of your teammates is not on the pull down list.
If you block communication with a player on battle.net in SC2, will that also make it so that you will never have to play with that person again? I sure hope so.
Is the main reason for someone to attack an ally just sheer whim or what? What can the motives be? They can't care much about the game, right? I feel like I got grouped with a bunch of angry tweens or that the traitor was playing drunk.
I can supply the replay if anyone is interested (thanks for reading all this! lol.).
