roach range is alright. i can kite with them better. and voidfails can no longer snipe my spawning pool in 2 seconds. although i don't blame the voidfails. i blame the endless abyss that awaits behind every starting position on every map.
Um... what? The corruptor change is a clear buff. There are no longer vulnerable to feedback and the time it takes to get your first corruption off is roughly the same(25 energy regenerates in 44.(4) seconds) and consecutive corruptions take 1/3 the time.

I'm actually really noticing the Roach change. It seems like the smallest one to me, but I'm really seeing an improvement with Zerg being able to deal with early Hellions from Terran. I'll often open 12 gas 13 rax into factory around 15/16. Most 14/15 hatch builds really had a tough time against this, because of how good hellions are at harassing drones. Most Zergs get roaches early and have to play passive, allowing the T to expand and become very strong.
However, I'm noticing players being more aggressive with their Roaches since the increased range allows them to pick off raiding units easier. Definitely a noticeable improvement.

Wait wait I thought this wasn't going to hit for a month or two! Woah.
THORS! :O And Corruptors! :O

I want to cite some pro opinions and how their opinions make sense and how blizzard's response is a match made in heaven.
One of Idra's cries for zvt is that Terran has too many viable openings against zerg that are easy to abuse. etc. The Depot and the reaper nerf takes out many of these abusable openings
ZvP has actually more recently been deemed more imba than ZvT as time went on. Many of these changes help Zerg. Hatchery health and Voidray DMG nerf can make response to these cheeses more viable and less of a (if I do this I win basically, think Idra's game 2 vs the protoss in gsl ro32, idra wouldve had much more time to respond to the voidrays coming out. Roach helps against Protoss FFE, and also against blink stalker abuse and what not among other things.
TvP has been deemed more favorable towards terran, the several terran changes help it be a little better. The other changes dont really affect TvP because terran rarely got reapers against protoss anyways (one stalker chases them all away almost).
Drops were so cheap and very mobile. The speed change nerf is unfortunate but it doesnt nerf the drop persay as much as give the opponent more time to reinforce and countethose drops. Protoss are the most immobile race (mainly because people dont take advantage of warp prisms) but I think these changes were sound. They help both 1v1 and teams

Awesome, I am liking the quick patching! I think the only reason it took so long before was GSL.

Never did I expect Blizzard to do EXACTLY what I wanted before. Besides very early concussive shells ruining /all/ gateway units, I am utterly shocked by these changes - they are exactly what was needed to stop (slow) the damn Protoss expansion rape in the late game. FWIW I bet there's a lot of Terran tears in here and some of the stuff looks overnerfed to me, sorry to see that but those 2 changes have me absoloutely giddy!

My point is that voids can still do massive damage in the new patch, just not the crazy "holy shit the entire base is melting" type of damage they used to.
Who knows though, we're all talking out of our asses here until we play a good bit...
Did dome test in map editor
Killing a nexsus for :
3 void rays ( 750m/450g) = 29 second uncharged 3 void rays ( 750m/450g) = 25 second charged 5 banshee (750m//500g) = 23 second 6 stimmed marauder (750m, 150g) 20 second.
Also using the nexus to test favor the void ray since shields have no armor.
So i guess banshee do more damage than charged voidray and marauder also. sooo why is the fleet beacon 300/200? (fusion core is 150/150) so we can get 2 useless updrade and 2 useless units?

I seriously cant believe they did this a day before mlg lol...

To people who are confused about the reaper nerfs. The reason why they made such large changes was because mass (proxy) reaper/ling combo was completely fucking broken in 2v2s. They even stated that somewhere in one of their posts, that this change was directed at fixing some aspects of team games. All in all, I'm surprised the patch came out this quickly, I'm impressed with that much at least. I also approve of the roach range buff.

That intro of "citing pro opinions" is pretty misleading. You're taking statements of well known players, a la IdrA, and then interpreting things for yourself. So its just your interpretations
ZvT, the super early game harass of instantly going to reapers is out. But it still doesn't mean that an early rine marauder push isn't. Neither are quick hellion drops. If anything, the Roach range 4 will do more to stop early harassment rather than the depot before rax.

Supply Depot as a requirement for Barracks is such a bad solution. I mean I would totally dig if they just said "fuck it, let's delete the Reaper as a unit", than imposing such unsound requirement for buildings. It seems the Zerg whining has paid off, seeing the buffs all over the place.
So no feedback on Thors now eh? And Corruptors? Us, Protosses should start whining more.
P.S. The whining part is a joke, in case you are the average adolescent TLiquider and have the urge to start your next post with "OMG HE INSULTED MY SC RACE, HOW DARES HE"

I think they may have actually found a sweet spot for the roach after all. Range 3 after all the health/armor/supply nerfs was just ridiculous, with range 4 it may all turn out fine.

Doubt it the medivac were faster then the ball im pretty sure they arent slower then it now. And why would you run your medics away? Id rather they die healing my units then survive and have my ball die.

so wait explain what thors mean now... they can do 250mm cannon without the upgrade???

Last patches I kinda agreed with blizzard but this time I think the changes came too fast and too big. Voidrays were one of the units that required micro cause they sucked uncharged, thats actually a good thing cause it makes the game interessting. Even though fully charged VR attack seemed a bit too strong a good terran would still find ways to prevent the charging or kill it anyway. This change takes out the excitment of VR-play. (Also in my opinion most of the problems with VR were based on the map not the unit)
Rax change also takes away some interessting gameplays and it takes away the diversity between the 3 races in early-early game. (Terran is now kinda like a second Protoss)
I think blizzard should wait a lil longer for big changes and trust in the players to be creative enough to work around some imbalances.

pretty good patch overall, touche blizzard
only thing that seems silly is the factory req for reaper speed lol, nobody even gets reapers once factories are out, maybe i'll get proven wrong in the GSL though

why should players work around imbalances instead of blizz fixing it

honestly why didnt they just remove the reaper?
