I'm sure there was more to it than Blizzard just caving into a Pro's request. Those replays must have been overwhelmingly convincing. Or perhaps they already felt that charged Void Rays were too strong and the replay put them over the edge. But I don't think Blizzard would make a balance change on a whim.

They mentioned a long time ago that they were "keeping our eyes on void rays".

The thing is, they are relatively weak on their own- but once your get enough of them, they can melt an army of equal size and cost within seconds of being charged.

I play protoss, and the one thing that PvP really makes me unhappy about is voids. If I ever win with them, I feel it was a cheap win, and the same in reverse.

They feel like a dirty unit to me.

Doesn't the fact that there are things so OP built into the base game that they have to be outlawed by convention mean that the base game was poorly balanced?
