It's still just another band-aid over larger problems in the game, but we've got 2 expansions for that. As far as simple "balance" goes it should be really good. And it's a patch that reduces early rushes too, I like that. | ||

Even low level players could stop void rays if they were scouted by building marines/more queens. Instead, I feel Blizzard is babying us-- Making void rays useless; what are their roles now ? They are hardly a cost-effective purchase in any situation. Proxy void rays, proxy reapers, are now basically eliminated from the game. Even though it annoyed me when I lost to a proxied 8 rax reaper build, I always told myself I should have opened safer. Now players don't even have to check for proxy barracks. No joke, I actually felt cool when I checked for proxies at the beginning of games on a 1v1 map. It felt like an extra-safe but high-level check. Now, it's something that can't happen. It wasn't extremely difficult to stop proxy barracks. In fact, it wasn't very hard at all. It just required a safe opening and a good scout. Dropships? Sure, they were frustrating but players learned to put overlords, pylons, and depots on the edges of their bases to spot for them. People dealt with them. Mutalisks, phoenixes, and vikings with control of the skies shut them down. I don't understand the need for such a strong nerf. It feels like we're being babied. That's really how I feel. Welcomed changes are the Thor/Corrupter changes. Those feel like a High Templar nerf, but it actually makes Thors more viable in TvP, where they currently aren't (except in early game with SCV surround repair, but that's a different issue entirely). I welcome also the roach range increase. As it is now, roaches are practically a "let's scrape by for now" unit until they are upgraded. Lastly, I'm glad the phoenix bug is fixed. That was a nightmare. I hope Blizzard releases less and less patches as time goes on. Let us play the game, figure things out, and make changes less often. So many changes have been made in less than two months that I can't even imagine what the game will be like this time next year. Sometimes I wonder why we had a beta phase. I feel like we're still in it sometimes. Getting on my MLG flight in 30 minutes. Let's see how this patch pans out tomorrow. | ||

VR nerf was totally uncalled for, and buffing the level1 charge means that pre-charging on your own stuff will be even more costly, and make even charging on opponents that much harder. VR mechanic went from "interesting" to "gimmicky". And nerfing Flux Vanes by half while keeping it at 150/150 ? Protoss have no counter to corruptors now that they cannot be FB'd, and only now has Immortals to deal with Thors. I can't believe the Depot>Barracks retarded change made it live. It's one thing to delay reapers (and nitro reapers even more) but to totally destroy any Terran cheese threat? Again, uncalled for. | ||

And that leaves...more basic units, like stalkers, which...yeaaah...not gonna "stun it" when my thor's main attack will kill it faster. the energy removal was a nice start though...now you can use thors vs protoss without losing half of their HP from 5 apm templar users. zerg is going to be too strong this patch though, versus every race...the roach is back! and reapers now are as useful as the 250mm cannon...lol... medivac nerf is good...it nerfs how easy bio is to use. And indirectly nerfs marauder drops and stuff while keeping high unit lethality still in the game...so that's good. void ray change...dunno about that lol. It'll be nice to not insta-lose to voids anymore. some decent changes...but with things the way they will be from these notes...they can literally remove the reaper+250mm cannon from the game and no one would notice. They still won't be used. | ||

Why not make it so that an engineering bay is required for a tech lab / reactor and increase the cost of upgrades. The factory requirement for reaper speed renders it useless... | ||
