When Blizzard talks about VR changes for damage level 1 and 2, does this mean they don't even consider the VR having 3 damage levels anymore? I know that the VR currently has 2 damage levels, but only because 2 of the 3 are the same.

Ok wow they actually did go through with the supply depot nerf and actually went farther and nerfed bio with the medi nerf. with the supply depot nerf, we cant counter 6 pool. for some reason, lings in sc2 are waaaaay better against scv's than lings in sc1 were.

In my opinion 6pool is the weakest cheese option available in the game. Select all your SCV and attack click the zerglings and you'll beat them. you'll still be able to get a depot up (now with more health) and throw down a barracks. Maybe it makes 6pool a bit stronger if your micro is bad, but it still suffers quite a bit.

this is a dumb comment. do you even play terran? sure, in BW you could pull scv's. but in sc2 scv's are useless against lings, they dont do damage and they take alot of damage.

6 pool is really strong, even on 4 player maps. on 2 player maps its sick. if those lings get in your base, they are going to put the hurt on the scv line. if you attack them straight up with scv's, youll have maybe 3 or 4 scv's left after the fight is over and then you will be behind in econ, also by the way there is 8 more lings headed towards your base.

dumb comment i think from a non-terran player. 6 pool might be the strongest cheese option in the game.

from my experience you can complete your wall with a scout after your 10depot and 12rax and then another depot as soon as you see the lings coming

i never really had problems against a 6pool, even on steppes...

also take a look at the finals of one of last weeks go4sc2 cups, where Mardow 6/7pooled Tarson a couple of times and never was successful...

What do you mean that ranged dt that you can get out faster than normal dts is amazing and it flies. Oh wait they gave it to terran...

Meant units that became useless due to overzealous developers. DT not being able to be made at temp archives makes them about as useless as reapers now that you have to research reaper speed @ factory stage.

But I agree about the banshee. Hate the cloak + gigantic dmg they do. Pick one blizz imo.

I used to think the same but I think DTs are actually kinda good now. Maybe the building should be slightly cheaper but other than that... Comsat energy is just too "expensive" now compared to in SC1, and they 1hit all workers.

They seem really nice later on, when the cost of the shrine isn't really an issue. The harass is good, and they seem nice as support units, forcing constant scans because they have such beastly damage.

I agree, I won with them against another toss the other day cause I fell behind on colossi count... made 1 round of all DT, and just sent them right for his colossi and sniped them all before he could get a 2nd obs out get his obs back from wherever to his army.

They don't suck before charge anymore. That's the point.

What is used to counter them though? Queens hydras for z and marines and vikings for t. All these they don't get the +4 at uncharged so only recieve a 16 percent buff uncharged while taking a 20 percent nerf charged. And seeing as how good toss use is to make sure they are charged close to 100 percent of the time it means a 20 percent nerf against light and a 36 percent nerf against armored.

Do any of you believe that the roach range will actually mean that we will see more hydralisks?

Now that roaches are buffed more people are going to get range upgrades, and if you have the range upgrades in the first place, then the extra investment in hydras may be worth it.

God I am so glad Zerg got some love at last, and that i stuck with the race.

Not just that, I think the damage reduction is too much for this kind of expensive unit. I can't believe they reduced it from 25 to 16, that's more than 30 per cent. (36 to be exact.) It makes me think that the price should go down to 200/150.

I do like a lot of the other changes. I wonder however, if removing energy from so many units doesn't devalue High Templar a little bit. However, it might give people a little more incentive to make Thors. Corruptors, I feel, are very often neglected, whether that is rightfully so or not.

Most of the time spent pre-charging is on rocks zealots or pylons that you cancel anyway... this hurts pre-charging if anything.

Very good; that's the point. It nerfs precharging by making uncharged VRs better. This encourages use of the VR as a standard unit rather than with a gimmick rush or somesuch.

Which is dumb because Void Ray charging was one of the coolest things in the game. Nobody should want VR to be used as a standard unit. It'd be just another unit to attack move rather than a unit that requires unique micro/preparation/tactics.

I play zerg. I've never lost to a 6 pool rush, so maybe you're doing something wrong. All I have is drones, do you know how to micro your workers correctly to counter a 6 pool? maybe that's part of the problem. Thanks for calling my comment and opinion dumb multiple times, it really reinforces your point and makes your a respectable poster.

I understand it's different when terran gets 6pooled as they have their walloff to worry about. But I don't see it being too troublesome, especially on a 4 player map. But it sounds like you haven't been so lucky.

Have to agree with Ocelot here, and as a Terran player I don't wall off because of how many B-Busters there are on ladder. Your SCV's can surround the lings off a 6 pool and kill them with maybe losing 2-3 most of the time. After you stop his first 6 pool attack you have pretty much won since it sets them back pretty far...

Yeah even i stopped walling against zerg unless i FE. A bunker is good enough to hold until you get rauders to tank blings or hellions to kite

Oh $hit, I didn't see that.

I have no idea. P's anti-air is fairly weak right now. Phoenix has their place, but it's more of a hybrid anti-air and harassment tool than strictly anti-air.

Holy Check! I can't believe they pushed this out so fast. I love it.

For the moment, screw the changes -- I'm just happy that Blizzard put this patch out as fast as they did. I'm incredibly glad that they're willing to push out balance changes as soon as they're happy with them rather than waiting for the next huge content.

And now, for the changes.

Even as a Zerg player, I still think requiring depot before rax is a dumb choice. I think it's bad for the game in general if options and playstyles are completely thrown off the table instead of nerfed slightly. I would've rather seen maybe a (very) slight increase in barracks and/or tech lab build time.

<3 roach range increase, I can't wait to play with it.

Void rays got hit with the nerf bat way hard. I'm undecided whether or not it's too hard. I think a cost decrease might be appropriate along with these changes. I'm interested in how the damage buff for level 1 works out, but I don't think it'll make much difference in the long run. The really good players were able to keep them charged up pretty much all the time. Maybe the purpose is to make it harder to hit level 2 at all (as stuff dies faster when hit with level 1)?

I do think flux veins were absolutely ridiculous, and I'm surprised that the upgrade wasn't completely abused all the time by higher level players. With proper micro it basically made void rays invincible.
