I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling JRE 6 update 22, and I just get the same message, what am I doing wrong and is anyone else getting this same error?

try runing it from the command line using the -jar prefix. that solved it for me.
open the command line, navigate to the folder and type "java -jar evolutionchamber-version-0017.jar"

How is the drone collection rate calculated when you have multiple hatcheries?

Is the program automatically using an optimal mining rate assuming you have 8x new mineral patches for each new hatchery?

I was thinking about building two hatcheries; one in main and one on natural expo and the number of drones I would want to saturate this config but I don't know if the program output would have any meaning for in base hatcheries.

There is no such thing right now as in base hatcheries. Each base assumes you open up new resources, that the drones are instantly maynarded (wrong, i know) and that they are evenly distributed between the bases.

That is one part of the reason why all the builds are super-optimal, and hence often unobtainable. It assumes things like perfect initial split, optimal harvesting at all times (worker micro), and the like. The team is in pretty constant arguments about optimal vs realistic.

Amazing program. Regardless of what anyone says about whether it's useful at certain levels of play or not, I have found it useful, and it's just downright cool, besides.

Only thing that's occurred to me is that a reset button might be nice, just to set all the fields to zero quickly. I imagine that setting a build to run overnight and then realizing you forgot to uncheck something would be awful.

A quick check shows someone mentioned that, but I didn't see any further discussion about it.

Again, awesome program. Thank you!

I absolutely agree I had this problem yesterday when running tests, it only wasted 15 minutes or so but sooo annoying. Also having it being super-optimal is fine as long as players realize this is the way it is. People shouldn't be basing their builds on the timer or food that much anyways because they are always subject to change in an actual game.

Keep it optimal. The only benefit of realistic is that you might be able to compare the timings of the ZBOO to what you achieve in real game but in reality that is kind of a moot point. What gives if your timer matches the one in the program? In reality you will (especially as Zerg lol) not be able to perfectly time your builds down to the second or supply count and work of rough estimates and build ORDERS (note, the order, not so much the timings). Making it realistic however adds a shitton of work while never being able to really achieve perfect realism and stealing time off of more bad-ass features (like optimizing for economy and allowing to input restrictions(f.e stay on 2 base or DONT build Lair before waypoint x)).

Great program keep up the good work

Okay first of all: I love this programm, you are a genius.

One little thing: I would be nice if one could specify a mineral and gas amount one would like to float at a specific time, for example if you want to decide to tech up or dump it into units at a specific point.

edit: oh and the ability to take a drone away at a certain time via waypoint(scouting)

This program is awesome! Took a few minutes to figure out how to use it but now that I got it down I'm really enjoying trying different things. First thing I tried was to emulate the 7 roach rush:

Here is a quick guide for new users to get up and running, these are the setting I used and seem to provide good results.

1) Click settings I unchecked extractor trick and push/pull workers (I want my builds simple) I also sent :minimum extractor supply to 3 to keep it simple.

2) click final: set deadline to "5:0" (seems to spend less time on dumb builds and tries more games per second) queens to "1" & roaches to "7". leave everything else to 0.

3) Hit start and here are my results on a Phenom 6 core (3.2 gig) after 20 minutes and over 12 million games played.

At time: 4:40
Minerals: 226 Gas: 68 Supply: 33/34
Drones: 17
Overlords: 4
Queens: 1
Roaches: 7
Hatcheries: 1
Gas Extractors: 1
Spawning Pools: 1
Roach Warrens: 1

Not bad!, good economy with 17 drones, easy to remember and emulate.

Interesting things about this is you build the first overlord on 10. Then you build the two additional overlords BEFORE the roach warren! . You don't even build the roach warren until 4:05. Might throw off someone who sends an early scout. All and all I found this build very unintuitive. God I love this program.

i have to admit i havent read all of this thread, maybe it's already been suggested

Would it be possible to add a factor like "nubishness" in order to emulate the human factor? A factor that determines an amount of delay for some of the actions, the noobier the the higher this factor and random delays.
This way one could maybe get an approximation of more realistic timings or take into account such things as drone transfer or suboptimal splitting and harvesting.

That way you could choose either the optimal way (0 nubishness) or more realistic ones.

Interesting things about this is you build the first overlord on 10. Then you build the two additional overlords BEFORE the roach warren! . You don't even build the roach warren until 4:05. Might throw off someone who sends an early scout. All and all I found this build very unintuitive. God I love this program.

This is slightly miss leading as the Roachwarren actually only FINISHES at 4:05, It actually starts at 3:10

I get this error message..

[Java Virtual Machine Launcher]
Could not find the main class:
C:\Users\Dave\Desktop\evolutionchamber-version-0017.jar. Program will exit.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling JRE 6 update 22, and I just get the same message, what am I doing wrong and is anyone else getting this same error?

try runing it from the command line using the -jar prefix. that solved it for me.
open the command line, navigate to the folder and type "java -jar evolutionchamber-version-0017.jar"

can you please tell me how exactly i can run it by using commandline?

1. Place the file in c:\
2. press the windows key + r
3. Type inn "cmd" (without the quotes) and press enter
4. type "cd .." (without the quotes) a few times until it says c:\>
5. Type "java -jar evolutionchamber-version-0017.jar" (without the quotes) and press enter

For those that don't know, if you lower the time limit from 120 minutes to something a lot more reasonable, it can run a LOT more games per second.

This is fantastic advice. For my PC, the program went from under 2k games per second to over 5k by setting the time limit at 10 minutes. That's almost tripling the speed, just from changing one setting.

This programm is really funny! And certainly usefull if we know how to use it!

My little help to the programmer:

It seems that there is an error in the supplies needed for blood lords.
They ask for 2 more supplies than the corrupt and the programm seems not to count that.

Sorry for my english
