i really wonder why there is no theorycrafting about such questions as they are clearly more interesting than the old "simplicity vs mechanical skill cap" discussion.
i gotta admit though that id be very happy if this gets patched. and i will admit that my reason for this is that im simply lazy and i personally really enjoy the first 90 or so seconds of the game, because i can relax a little bit and prepare my mind and fingers for the upcoming battles.
if any1 thinks im a bad or inferior player because of these feelings - fine.

True, but it would be much harder to do it for earlier gates as you have more probes to micro.

the problem i see with it is that it will be difficult to patch. they cant globally change the accel./decel. behavior of units, so they would have to only change that of workers. this would inevitably provide better harassing options. imagine the pain of huk probe harass without any acceleration.
so basically patching this bug has the potential to add new harassing options for the top lvl players, something that is battle micro rather than mindless spamming on mineral patches, something that increases the amount of differentiation worker harass can yield between the pro players and the lowish guys, something that adds to sc2´s value as a spectator sport.

I really hope this is not true. What a boring thing to have to do just to be competitive. Still, that is very well spotted if indeed it is true. I hope Blizzard patches this out immediately.

Mh, of course. But again, it'll be more difficult to do as you'll have to manage more workers. And if zerglings do reach your mineral line pulling probes will mess you up even more than it already did, as you'll lose regular mining time and the.. trick.
