If you want a slight nerf for super-fast 4-gating (and 4-gating in general), the simplest way IMO would be to remove vision for units warping in. That is, when you warp in a unit, it does not grant you vision until its finished warping in. This curtails those plays where a toss builds a pylon next to the opponent's ramp and "walks" warping in zealots up it or alternatively runs a stalker up and warps in zealots on the high ground. These plays are currently so effective because the units warping in grant vision for the stalkers on the ground to shoot as well as vision for further warp-ins. So even if the stalker you've just run up the ramp dies instantly, as long as you got in 1 warp, you can add in 3 more. Removing vision from warping in units makes it so you have to keep that stalker alive if you want to warp in or you have to wait the 5s until your units are done warping on the high ground. I don't think the change would be massive, but that's half the point. It's a subtle nerf that affects literally NO other part of the game. But it makes the 4-gate just a little easier to defend, which I find appealing.

4 gate is only one application of it and the most obvious one. It is about WARP INS! The whole mechanic that enables a building that you build anyway to be a free teleport to anywhere on the map. Drop, harass, reinforcement and positional play are all massively influenced by this. Right now there is no real limit on the warp ins. If you compare it to nydus worm: Tech cost, building cost, low hp and A SCREAM Every race normally has to invest time into tech or transport units that needs gas to make the mobility/versatility of the warpgate happen. And there is still the risk factor that needs to be adressed: Right now the bonus dmg on warp in units is hardy noticable even if you lose some shields while warping in. This is way better than waiting for that unit to run 1 min over the whole map to reinforce your troops like the other races. That would be another solution imo: - either increase dmg on warp in units by 100% - and/or simply kill units that are warping in, when pylon or warp prisms is killed When i think about it right now that would be the easiest fix for rushes too.

Im sorry, I like Tyler most times but being such a downer in SOTG all the time about PvP and MC in general is getting tiresome =( And yes, its my OPINION so comments like "Omg tyler speaks the truth!!!!!!" wont affect me <3 I just want to say that I've never heard Tyler "give excuses" when he loses. He's always like, "I'm disappointed in myself. I should have played better. I don't have a good excuse" What's awesome about Tyler is that he's just as critical of his own play as he is of everyone else's, so hopefully you'll become more of a Tyler fan as you see that.

Mood, satisfaction, affect, whatever factors you think contribute to... a downer... are all irrelevant to the goal of critical gameplay discussion: sterile analysis and dissection of why a game turned out as it did, then finally salvaging brilliance and excising mistakes. All professional competitors benefit from being hyper critical of themselves and others in order to learn, grow, and improve their play. Even a non-competitor like Day9 has repeated explicitly how hard he is on himself, and how he'll settle for nothing less than the best from his own efforts. It's simply a productive mentality. This is very much true. And I totally loved the reaction of Incontrol and the spot on description of the analysis from Tyler. Professional and critical thinking is what improves the play of yourself and the game as a whole. This comes with practice and looking it from a neutral or objective standpoint. Calling that a downer with no real argumentation is negative and is not constructive critism.
