I love the amount of theory crafting it adds some depth to the podcast overall. It isn't possible too do this every week, but on major Update days its great. This podcast is called State of the Game, unlike what alot of people listen too it for. That being the Antics/Hilarity that always pursues. Thanks everyone, especially Geoff and JP <3 no homo

After watching some of Idra's streams, I've begun to find a lot more respect for the difficulty of the Korean server. The Korean server hosts some of the most cut throat and cheesiest plays I've ever seen.

Artosis and Idra have both done a lot for the Starcraft community and have long standing reputations to back up their experience and knowledge.

Nuf said incontrol was clearly losing an argument and went on tilt. He wasn't able to deal with being shown to be wrong, so instead of conceding, he just kept pushing his argument and starting making personal attacks. He wasn't joking around at that point.

He also said that going Spire was already very difficult, as in, before the patch changes. So he is implying that 1. ZvP is broken unless Spire is an option yet also implying that 2. Spire is already hardly even an option. So this must mean that ZvP is only "balanced" when Spire is, like, 4/18ths of an option or something. Since that seems unlikely, Idra most likely believes that ZvP is already "broken", i.e. "imbalanced". So how could this new patch break something that's already broken? Incontrol's argument about zvp timings, e.g. opening stargate vs. getting it later, were good points, as the initial timings before phoenix count gets built up will be practically the same, i.e. Mutas will arrive before a delayed Stargate, but not before a Stargate opening, as always. Just wish he didn't get gangbanged so hard by arguments that were flawed to begin with

There was a bit of sarcasm there, I'd think.

You'd have to be careful of elitism, i.e. "You're only 2200 Diamond that doesnt make you good or your opinions worthy of being posted here in our special forum", but I think overall it would greatly improve the signal to noise ratio. Much less to slog through for the upper tier players.

His arguments and insults seem so elementary, yet they fly way above many heads in here.

I really wish you had been on that one Tyler. I think iNcontrol may have felt a little ganged up on and I think when he did, he stopped making any reasonable arguments or points. I feel like there were some points to be made that he didn't get out, and that may have made him sound like an angry kid to some people. I'm a little tired of Dan and Idra insisting that zerg takes the most apm to use effectively, and while I wouldn't debate either of them on it (they know wayyyy more than me). They are just different. Yeah you have to inject your hatches (you don't even have to look at your base), yeah you need to spread creep well, and yeah you have to micro your units. Every race has apm sinks, like, having to look away from battle almost every time you wanna make units, or having to look in your base anytime you wanna chrono something (can be done from the minimap, but anything other than the nexus takes a lot of practice). I just don't think they should be compared, because when it comes to pure #'s they just can't be. I really liked this state of the game though, probably because of the patch ![]() Also do Pro's like to participate in the PTR? Or do you just see it as a waste of your training time? I could see it being not that helpful, maybe even detrimental to your play (depending on the proposed changes).

I could see it being not that helpful, maybe even detrimental to your play (depending on the proposed changes). Best case scenario: you have no competitions in the immediate future so you practice on PTR and make a new build that somehow you keep private, then the changes on PTR actually go live and you have a competition soon after, where you get to use new build. It does not seem very likely to be helpful and as long as you have a steady flow of matches, you'd never have a chance to try it. And if it's not popular among top players, then you also have a problem finding opponents.
