I love how the shows have been getting longer and longer (could listen to SotG all day).

They should start using the Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition as a unit of measurement for communicating the length of each podcast.

Because when they get someone like PainUser, and ask him how a protoss responds to a typical terran strategy, he responds with "zealots are good dps, carriers are good vs marines, DT are better than banshee."

What amazes me is that 4 guys talking shit over the internet can produce as much or more entertainment value than, say, Avatar.

God, I'm a nerd.

Bah when incontrol said "like stepping over mountains" I was just hoping/waiting for PainUser to reply "yea like climbing you". Oh why didn't you Pain?

While I don't agree with a lot of the stuff Painuser said, I thought he was a good addition to the show and would like to see him come back on at some point. I think he was dead wrong with the DT vs banshee debate, but he brought up a lot of good points and it was nice to hear debate from the people on the show rather than simple agreement. I give him a lot of props for being able to debate with both Tyler and Incontrol.

Has anyone yet mentioned that another plus to teching to DT's is that you can make Archons? I was a little surprised that there wasn't any mention of Archons at all in the podcast.

It's funny how the OP says that maybe they can manage 45 minutes a week and now it's 3 hours long.

It's become less of a show and more of a habit. Not that I'm complaining. I'll listen to the same episode two, three times a week.

I don't play Protoss, and virtually never see them used when I play, so I can't really comment on their effectiveness. I guess the show's opinion is that they're laughable, hehe. However, I recall Koreans on Gisado's stream (when it was available to foreigners) using them to tank against bio balls and it worked OK as far as I can remember.

I feel as though Archons are one of a few things Protoss completely neglect these days. Like I said, I can't really make any legit comments on balance but I just have that gut feeling that things like archons, hallucinate, dark templar, and phoenix will eventually be included in pro games much more effectively than right now. And it's probably just the optimist theorycrafter in me, but maybe that's why Protoss feels barren right now.

Archons have 10 hp after an emp. Sentries do a better job tanking. The T will have ghosts by the time you are using archons to tank bio balls...

archons are decent. the issue with them is their INSAAAANE cost.

Unlike in bw, emp deals 100 damage to shields in an aoe.

An archon made from DTs costs 250/250, from HT it's 100/300 - just think about that cost.

Now if the archon's splash radius was actually large enough to hurt anything other than highly stacked air it might actually be useful in dealing with terran bio or roaches. As it is though, the archon is just a giant blue turd.

Technically, if you are struggling with muta ling as toss, you could go Archon (they rape mutas) zealot. Using the zealot as a mineral dump because archons cost 100/300

Would love to see someone try this, lol

Dude archons are awesome you don't even know. Haven't you seen those videos where they show you how to counter certain units? Yeah dude, archons FTW.

Big battle

Protoss storms

merges into archons

as merging, protoss army all dies to muROWders

You now got archons, you try to run them away to keep them safe, but nothing escapes the firebear.

Maybe they should just make them massive so they don't die in stupid fashion to Marauders.

We could also then brag about Toss's Massive Blue Balls...
