Yes, i'm not trying to defend the SotG hosts in any way. But i feel Avilo's arguments were really flawed and contributed a great deal to why everything went so down hill after that. In general, it was just a bad decision to bring him on, the qxc idra discussion was much more insightful and it should have been left at that.

I understand theres more to determining balance but....
Well in GSTL zergs (mainly symbol/life) are on killer streaks. Symbol AK'd a team and so did Life I believe? I know Symbol did and Symbol has just been crushing in GSTL (kind of like DRG did before he became a really big name like now).

Sigh.. watching this tonight was just.. depressing. The pillars of the community should act like pillars. They should show us in the best light, and not the embarrassing, awkward situation that bringing Avilo into the show caused. Who was right, and who was wrong is irrelevant. People acted like douche-bags. I'll still likely watch SotG, but not with the same enthusiasm, and only if I happen to see it on. I really doubt I'll make sure I log on in time to see it all.
Just.. m'eh. I expected better from the "leaders" of this community. Maybe that was just dumb/naive of me.. but now I know better.

Pretty obvious they brought me on to cut me down, have a laugh/whatever with geoff's incessant giggling or w/e he was doing in the background along with the others. Oh well, I didn't expect to be treated with respect, I at the very least expected some class.
And if somethings I said seemed "not well spoken..." It's a bit tough to bring new points into the discussion as i'm sure QXC probably already brought up most things earlier on in the show, it's also tough when I can hear their condescending laughing in the background as I try to speak, along with putting up a random picture of me like they did to try to get "more laughs." oh wells.
I appreciate being brought on regardless, it would have been nice to have some input during the first TvZ discussion they had earlier on, where the points would have been fresh and I could have added more.
I appreciate that QXC is a baller with class and didn't treat me like dirt beneath his feet, and that nony was at least neutral.

The second i heard they actually bring Avilo on i muted and then later closed the stream. There was no way this was going to work.

It was. JP did the right thing. It was about to become a hurricane of shit. Avilo kept interrupting Idra (think I counted 5 times) and I don't blame Idra for telling him to shut the fuck up. Especially with their past I would too.

Why did you take points Idra made and then claim they were agreeing with you when the contrary was obvious?
and for that matter when the point across the show had obviously been made of you being a TvZ balance whiner for a good year at least now, did you choose to go on?

I dont think he was a badass for cussing or insulting avilo. I think he's a man because he stayed by what he felt instead of putting on a fake smile to talk with someone he didn't expect to talk with / clearly did not want to talk with just to appease people such as yourself.
He also let avilo speak after avilo criticized idra for interrupting, then what did avilo do right after? Interrupt and condescendingly keeps saying Idra agrees yet Idra was saying something completely different than what Avilo thought.
If I was in idras position, I probably would have told him at that point to stfu as well.

Can't completely blame the pillars. Although I am disappointed by their actions as well, it was the community that was begging for this to happen because they wanted to see some drama. If we want our representatives to be mature and professional at all times, maybe we as a community should be as well.

I understand that you have to maintain a good atmosphere on the show, but in this case Idra was behaving much worse than Avilo was. Idra's the one who told Avilo to STFU and basically said that Avilo "wasn't good enough" to talk to him. Avilo, on the other hand, was not rude or disrespectful towards Idra, and he didn't make personal attacks on him.
I'm not saying that Idra is a bad person, or that he shouldn't be on the show, but tonight he behaved quite badly towards Avilo, and I would have liked to see you, as the host, stand up and give idra the slap on the wrist that he needed.

At this point it is entirely between IdrA and Avilo. Avilo brings up some points, and IdrA responds to them. Then Avilo makes some comment about how LuckyFool made a point on something. IdrA responds with a condescending remark along the lines of "I guess I haven't been keeping up with LuckyFool's blog recently." Avilo then says something along the lines of "Some people who aren't as well known actually have good things to say in this community" obviously in a frustrated manner as he was clearly referring to himself (among others, I imagine). Then Avilo rants for awhile longer. IdrA goes to respond and Avilo says "HEY HEY HEY" over him. Geoff interjects and asks Avilo to let IdrA finish since IdrA was calm and quiet while Avilo spoke. The debate went on and Avilo tried to make it sound like IdrA was agreeing with him while he (Avilo) used some flawed logic and claimed to quote what IdrA was saying, when he wasn't. IdrA got angry and told him to STFU. JP hung up on the call with Avilo. Basically, it was pretty much what you would expect. I'm sure I forgot some details, but essentially Avilo came on to argue with IdrA, and IdrA lashed out as anyone would expect. Now everyone in this thread is treating it like the biggest fucking crime on the planet, and complaining about how terrible it was. You know it's possible to have a civil debate without telling the person to "shut the fuck up" for no good reason
Why did you even respond to me? I was just summarizing it. Only the last two lines were my own opinion, but in that part I even said
but essentially Avilo came on to argue with IdrA, and IdrA lashed out as anyone would expect.
I even said that IdrA lashed out. Lashing out is not a positive thing to do, nor did I ever suggest that it was a civil way to debate. Where in the hell are you coming up with this shit? Seriously... wtf?

Did the same thing. But then I clicked on what JP retweeted and fell off my chair. Damn you SOTG :<

Code A 2 TvZ's, both terrans won.... Code S i see 14-12 TvZ(if i added correctly)... with 7 terrans in ro16.
I understand theres more to determining balance but.... GSTL is 4-13 TvZ and then there's this:
+ Show Spoiler +
edit: image doesn't seem to want to display correctly, not sure what's up with that.
Anyway, TvZ is in a weird state right now and obviously a lot of Terrans are displeased about what appears to be completely contradictory action from Blizzard. On the one hand, they say the designed Terran to be stronger earlier and weaker later, but on the other, they continue to make moves that weaken Terran's early game while at the same time doing nothing to strengthen the late game. It's understandably frustrating.
