Take a look at State of the league for instance soo fucking awkward and SoTL isnt even that bad compared to some things.

yeah the show just hasnt been very interesting for a long time. it's no one person's fault, just on a whole the show is pretty boring. maybe it's completely out of your guys control, as there are no longer crazy insane patches to talk about every week. when im in the mood to listen to a podcast i will load up an older show where they are discussing patch notes rather than watching a new show i havent even seen yet

There seems to be a crazy strong sense of entitlement going on here, i don't get it.
But hey, love the FREE show you guys do when you have the time. Put out another FREE episode whenever you feel like it and i will tune in.. for FREE.

BAZINGA!
It's funny cause it's true.
So this SOTG occurs more random than a Legendary item drop in Diablo 3. Damn I am a geek.

SOTG is my favourtie podcast to listen too, and even though I would love it to be on every week I understand that all of the guys on the show have other commitments that come first. Thanks for a great show JP

When you think about what people say about the internet being created by millions of monkeys on typewriters, the shit slinging all makes sense.

How is requesting for the show to have a stable regular schedule entitled? If anything, when done in a constructive way, people are giving JP valuable feedback about what they don't like. Just because it's free doesn't mean you can't criticize it, that is an idiotic attitude to have.

They do the show when they can. JP was busy with MLG. What gives you the idea that constructive criticism will change that?

There is just a big difference between constructive criticism and the ridiculous shit that people say in this thread. The lack of respect and understanding of the hosts' schedules/priorities, and the absurd ways that people choose to express their discontent for the show is what is so bothersome, not the fact that people criticize it at all.

How is asking someone who dosent own you anything to do something for you for free entitled?. How is asking for them to do it on a more regualr basis despite them being very buzy with work, not entitled.
"It would be nice if the show was every thuesday, when its possible." That is a suggestion. "You guys need to decide on a day, keep it and make it" thats a request.
Suggestion are fine, request are.. entitled. Lets see if it work in the world. So, Duravi, im playing d3 and i would like to have more room in my stach. can you make me 50 000 gold and give it to me plz? if you dont have the game plz go and buy it alrigth, you dont even have to go out of your house you can use the digital download option. I would like to have it by the end of the week if possible too.

You know you are a nerd when your real life examples are from games.
And a popular free show means many people are watching. To be viewed by many is also a privilege and exposure is a great factor in this world. It works both ways. The fact that we listen to their shoutouts to their sponsors is also a bonus. We are the targeted market and they have our attention. I think it's a fair trade.
I remember an episode from Seinfeld where Elaine opens her business Muffintops and gives the body of the muffins to the homeless people and one lady from the shelter comes and gives her a lesson that just because it's free it doesn't mean they have to be grateful. Free stuff can also insult, hurt, etc.
So no.

Oh come on, the difference between those two is trivial at best.
Just because someone used the term "need" doesn't mean they are delusional to the point where they think they can instruct JP what to do with his time and how to organize it. You can't really interpret either as anything other than a suggestion.

This is not an "Example" i am actualy asking for 50 000 gold in d3, i could ask for something else but this is kinda conveniant. Cant ask him to do chores or send me money, thats not fair.

Need a lot of you to know this: It actually sucks a LOT (mostly for JP) when he gets blasted on twitter, TL, Reddit etc.. getting called a "shitty host" and basically a lot of people going on and on about how the show is diving etc. These comments will come, we should ignore them..b lah blah blah, but you know what? It's the 2nd highest upvoted thing on reddit/starcraft atm and it is filled with vile. We aren't maliciously skipping on the show. We don't enjoy not doing it.. we fucking love doing it more than you love listening to it. Calling us out for being a part of different companies, calling jp out for everything and going on and on about X show is better etc.. is really only making the community that participates in that kind of shit throwing look ugly.
It's cool though, I am pretty sure the people that cry and bitch the most are some of our most avid fans/listeners. We will do the show as we are contracted to do and hopefully more. Please try and be a bit more supportive (speaking to those that are spending this time being angry).
We have amazing fans and I recognize that what I am saying applies to the minority. But there are enough of you to hurt the feelings of a lot of us and to make yourselves and this community look like a big chunk of shit sometimes. Constructive criticism is far and away different from saying someone is "shitty" at their job etc..
As the person who made the post on reddit (I actually posted it here first, but it went largely ignored), my hope was to give some constructive criticism on the whole ordeal without starting a witch hunt (like the last 5 or so similar reddit posts have done). I have the utmost respect for the entire SOTG crew (especially JP), and I decided to post it because SOTG meant a lot to me and I knew others felt the same way. The fact that the thread on reddit became so popular is just proof of this. I hope you took the time to actually read my post, instead of some of the inflammatory circlejerk drivel that got upvoted in the comments.
Honestly, I felt that Destiny derailed the whole discussion when he brought up the "the content sucks because they all work for the industry" topic, I've always felt that the fact that everyone on the show came from various organizations cancelled out the bias to some degree.
Regardless, I am incredibly excited to hear that more SOTG is on the way, especially now that it seems a bit more clear that it will become more regular. I wish you all the best :-)

The part that blows my mind is the clear pattern to when we get SotG. There could be a flow chart to the entire thing:
Will there be State of the Game this week:
Is JP at home? Yes: State of the Game is likely this week. No: Then...
Is JP in NYC for MLG? Yes: Show is unlikely, due to crappy hotel internet and long hours at the office. No: Then...
Is JP as one at MLG open touranment? Yes: There is no chance for a show. Are you kidding? Have you seen the maddness that is an MGL? No: Then...
Is JP at his parent's house: Yes: Questionable, their internet is spotty at best(see episode from parent's house for reference) No: Then...
Is JP out with his fiance for the weekend: Yes: No chance of a show. If you need reasons, we cannot help you here at TL. No: JP needs to question his priorities and the chance of a show is unknown.
With this simple guide, you too can predict if there will be an episode of State of the Game this week.
