I think JP was a person who was at the right time to jump into Esports. In no way has he built up any credit with Starcraft community and now he starts to rant at us for some comments ppl made. He should know that ppl can make the smallest little thing into a big thing and start bringing on the pitchforks at the slightest provocation. He shouldnt even react in such a way and just leave the comments for what they are. But now that he has basicly called us out the shitstorm has become even bigger. Congratulations JP for being a dumbass and reacting to trolls on the internet. If they let a handpuppet take your spot at SoTG I'd still watch it because of the great personalities it has but I'm not watching it because of its great hosting. Thank you and take your business elsewhere now. So he's expected to be a robot and not listen to anyone else? How else are you suppose to make the show better if you never read what people have to say about you?

Easy, you take to heart the criticism that will make you better, and you ignore the other verbal excrement. You don't respond to it. And you don't use insulting language that isn't pointed at someone in particular but is rather broad and could be taken badly by any fan who has ever had any valid criticism.

Other than that I feel really bad for JP. He just wanted to allow the community to ask sundance some questions about this huge announcement, personally I really enjoyed the show and thought it was really cool that they put it together so quickly. The sc2 community nowadays really needs to pull the stick out of their asses and chill out more, the fact that sponsors are getting messaged on a almost weekly base for some random shit, tournaments are flammed for stuff instead of praised for the fact that we even have these amazing tournaments all over the planet and now we also bitch about free content? I really wish I could go back in time and kick the morrons who led up to orbs loosing his job/destiny getting shitted on/jp raging on the community (rightful imo) in their fucking asses. The most ironic part is that I'm probably gonna get banned from tl for expressing my opinion, cool censorship guys. Don't be a drama queen martyr. TeamLiquid isn't colonial America or Tienanmen Square. You do not need to preemptively declare "I'm going to be banned for this..." or "ban me, I don't care." Our Moderators ban for good reasons. If they read someone acting like a martyr, they'll simply treat it as a request to be banned. That aside, I have seen NASL getting shit on for their seasons and finals. Lately much of praise due to vast improvement. I have seen nothing but praise for HSC. A debacle in Dallas for MLG and huge upswing on the event after that. So don't spread plain lies like everyone gets constantly shit on for no reason. There also very different things people complain about- not a united single opinion. The ordeal with the last impromptu interview is silly, yes. But no one can say with a straight face that the quality of SotG hasn't been lackluster for nearly half a year now. So when are we exactly allowed to get impatient- when HotS comes out?

I'm not going to go through each point to correct your foolish assumptions, because its obvious you don't care at all. Just know, JP is not a random person who jumped into Esports.

I just looked over the two reddit posts (the original and the one about JP's reaction) and almost every single post that was heavily/moderately upvoted makes complete sense and is reasonable. Why do people (such as JP here) keep saying this community is horrible? I don't understand. The community isn't horrible but, the horrible side is more vocal. This is almost always the case and there's no way around it in my opinion. Just look past the bad things and focus in on the good things. Easier said than done though.. :s

Why do people (such as JP here) keep saying this community is horrible? I don't understand. because allying yourself to the pitchfork narrative is much easier than acknowledging criticism. especially when said narrative already has a critical mass of partisan posters ready to fight your cause. it is essentially the "terrorism" of the starcraft community. while it's done some terrible things, it's become an all easy word to throw around to avoid facing up to the inconvenient truth of a situation.

Inflammatory comments that make you no better than the trolls you implicitly criticize. JP does a lot for the community and for you to throw that out there is quite frankly unintelligent. Honestly, who gives a FUCK that JP made that post? Lol it's just one angry post...there is absolutely no need to call it unprofessional or get worked up and post on the forums going into specifics about why you don't like it. It is one fucking forum post, it has absolutely no significance, the "controversy" is just people trying to make a big deal out of it. Try using your brain and help to make the forums an enjoyable place for this community's public personalities.

The "show" was going to be a quick one-off about a huge thing that happened in the world of eSports yesterday, and then you shit on him and the "show" because he can't answer (business wise) the questions iNcontrol asked. The show was literally planned 15 minutes prior to going on air and I'm in NYC with zero SotG assets except for the vid intro and intro/outro music -- no art. Production was terrible but the content was there and I would of rather have the exclusivity (LOL) / timeliness of the topic rather then waiting a week to discuss it. The idiocy and pure bullshit this community feeds its personalities makes people want to quit on a daily basis. If I didn't have friends on the show that made me enjoy it and was just doing this myself, I would of quit long, long ago. Lay off the fucking kool-aid and think for yourself rather then joining the mob, getting pitchforks, and making people / tournaments / organizations drop all interactivity on social media. User was warned for this post (unnecessary flaming) Not all of us bro <3 keep up the good work and don't go to reddit... Some fans actually appreciate (though not understand your behind the scenes work) you and I personally hope you don't quit. ![]()

Professionals shouldn't be reading threads based off of community feedback if they can't take the good with the bad. You dont see NFL Casters constantly on ESPN threads talking like normal right? I didnt watch the thread or read any of the posts. I saw the Reddit thread, read through it for context and came here. JP is just gonna create more issues for himself for turning 'bad' towards the community. The bad eggs are always loudest JP, ignore them. You aren't the best caster, aren't the most informed, among many things. But you are a iconic figure of the community and are appreciated with what you do by a large majority. Learn to take feedback appropriately, learn to distinguish between actual feedback/trolls. Possibly take a book out of Day9's book. My 2 cents

User was warned for this post (unnecessary flaming) This type of response with generalizing an entire community (when it's really the vocal minority that are being the problem here) is not a good way of vindicating yourself or making yourself look better to the people who actually love your show and watch it faithfully (like I do). I was just checking the thread today to see when the next show was and didn't even know there was a problem with us people being "so fucking ignorant and ungrateful." All in all I am thankful you do your show JP. If you really do hate the minority of this community so much then please leave. It won't help anyone but at some point you have to look at what your own choices mean to you. As for "making people/tournaments/organizations drop all interactivity in social media" maybe you should realize that the majority of tournaments and interactivity is actually being promoted and not decaying in any sort of meaningful way. The problems people are having with the label of this particular SotG is that it really wasn't one. Maybe it should have been called SotG - Sundance Exclusive or something? I don't know. Please stop reading these forums so closely and then picking out only the negative opinions. There is constructive feedback in these threads hidden among the trash and it would be wise to consider the community is not full of morons like so many of the players and casters make it out to be. Thank you for what you do for the community but the non-professional responses to these types of problems only exacerbates them.
