Yeah JP we are all entitled and should just stfu and enjoy everything you put out, just because it has the branding of the show we all started to enjoy in the last year. I get it. You get it and we don`t get it. To bad you can`t fire your fanbase.

I think JP was a person who was at the right time to jump into Esports. In no way has he built up any credit with Starcraft community and now he starts to rant at us for some comments ppl made. He should know that ppl can make the smallest little thing into a big thing and start bringing on the pitchforks at the slightest provocation. He shouldnt even react in such a way and just leave the comments for what they are. But now that he has basicly called us out the shitstorm has become even bigger. Congratulations JP for being a dumbass and reacting to trolls on the internet. If they let a handpuppet take your spot at SoTG I'd still watch it because of the great personalities it has but I'm not watching it because of its great hosting. Thank you and take your business elsewhere now. Ummmm no. you don't even know what JP has done. JP has been in esports for years before sc2 dude.

JP produced a impromt MLG advert (in a shitty quality) where Incontrols questions would not be answered and is now throwing a tantrum, because people complain about it. Normally i wouldn`t care to comment on so much fabricated drama, but your response was just so enlightening. Because its huge fucking news and JP was able to get us Sundance and Lee before anyone else.

If you dont like the content, gtfo. And dont come back. and to the SotG guys. Please keep making the show. I dont care how good or "bad" the show is. Its awesome that you even take the time to do something like this for everyone. I for one really appreciate this and everything else that you dont really have to do. Keep being pillars.

The "show" was going to be a quick one-off about a huge thing that happened in the world of eSports yesterday, and then you shit on him and the "show" because he can't answer (business wise) the questions iNcontrol asked. The show was literally planned 15 minutes prior to going on air and I'm in NYC with zero SotG assets except for the vid intro and intro/outro music -- no art. Production was terrible but the content was there and I would of rather have the exclusivity (LOL) / timeliness of the topic rather then waiting a week to discuss it. The idiocy and pure bullshit this community feeds its personalities makes people want to quit on a daily basis. If I didn't have friends on the show that made me enjoy it and was just doing this myself, I would of quit long, long ago. Lay off the fucking kool-aid and think for yourself rather then joining the mob, getting pitchforks, and making people / tournaments / organizations drop all interactivity on social media. User was warned for this post (unnecessary flaming) Wow I am so sad that some people in this community forced such a post out of you JP, I love what you do with SOTG and I've watched every single episode since early 2011. I wish people didn't feel like they are entitled to criticize the shit out of this show just because they put it on the internet. They should be grateful for every second and if they're not - don't watch it simple as that. So much drama for absolutely no fucking reason.

it's JP's show. he can make a state of the game about his intense love for dandelions and unicorns and talk about that if he wants. big news in the community, he gets sundance and lee together at the same time and 95% of the show is incontrol asking them questions, JP literally doesnt say a SINGLE word for about 20 minutes in a row and actually only talks for maybe 3 minutes out of a 38 minute show. how is he being a toady for MLG/Kespa in that situation? incontrol was doing quite fine asking questions thank you very much. he didnt need JP to swoop in and save him from sundance allegedly being evasive. JP gets a big scoop interview situation and some stupid immature people get mad over it being corporate shilling somehow? was JP sitting there asking questions like "How great do you think it is that MLG and Kespa have joined forces? Aren't you guys just super awesome?" He sat there and didn't say ANYTHING and incontrol asked probing questions. if sundance / lee didn't answer to those questions to your satisfaction, is that JP's fault? actually sundance not answering incontrol's questions to your satisfaction is still valuable information brought to us thanks to JP's efforts to throw a show together in the very short timeframe he could get them all on at the same time. JP did what good journalists do to get us valuable information and some people shit all over him for the absolute stupidest reasons

Well that certainly can't be possible. There's no such thing as willpower on the internet!

There was an MLG advertisement under the guise of being State of the Game, a show many of us like. How about if for this week's episode on Game of Thrones, HBO decides to just play an ad for their upcoming shows instead, but calls it Game of Thrones. That would go over splendidly.

He can be the George Lucas of starcraft talk shows.

Yeah, and with that, people would stop watching Game of Thrones possibly? Just like any other business, State of the Game is allowed to do whatever they wish. They didn't insult anyone with this production, nor did they cross any line with what they said. MLG had something they wanted to clarify/say, and they choose State of the Game instead of a TL post to do so. The problem with the community right now is that we have a lot of people shitting on the things that get don while not looking for new productions or possibly even starting their own. If you don't like what SotG is doing right now, why not just start your own podcast? Or at the very least, just go looking around for others?

I think the community expecting the very best out of its shows and players is a really good thing. I think community figures such as JP expecting constructive criticism instead of insults and trolling is a really good thing too. But sadly we're arguing over witch-hunting and how much JP sucks rather than discussing what the implications of MLG's exclusivity are, or how to improve SOTG, since it's quality was very sub-par. This feels like a big waste of time to argue about and it's sad because it seems like the majority of people wanted to have a rational discussion but trolls and JP got way out of hand and have made this a huge flame war instead - shame on both the idiots out there and on JP for letting them get to him like this.

That's a horrible analogy. Maybe if it was that they would invite GRRM for an intensive interview about his upcoming book or something. Which suddenly does not sound as bad evil advertisement anymore and is in my opinion more accurate. Which brings me to my point, why was this SOTG made for only advertisement purposes? The viewers know what MLG is, if it's fun or not and have made up their mind if they will watch it or pay for it. I don't see a conspiracy really.. You just get an interview with Sundance done by an regular host of SOTG who is not affiliated with MLG whatsoever. (I have only watched until like 25 minutes in since I had to catch a train) Maybe they should not have called it SOTG but this was just a little bonus episode JP made for the community for FREE notice, FREE.

That would go over splendidly. this is honestly the stupidest thing i've ever read/seen or even heard. how in the hell do you think those 2 things are even remotely comparable. state of the game is a show revolving arround the starcraft 2 esports scene, so please tell me why everyone is pissed off so much that there is an interview/report on the biggest deal to date in our scene? and tell me how that is even remotely comparable to game of thrones... please stop spewing those sensationalist comments like "this was an advertisement, it's an outrage, imagine they would do ads instead of your favorite show on blabla" it only makes you look somewhat idiotic. also, because jp seems to be have to reminded of this: there's a huge community that thinks you do a great job JP, keep up the good work. regards - the silent "not complaining about everything you do" faction of your viewership ps: we love you <3
