Is SOTG indy? Hell the fuck no. Is SOTG no fluff? Way the fuck not. Is SOTG biased? It most certainly is. But is it fun? Is it enjoyable to watch? Does it provide a lot of information for the viewers? Do we get to see interviews with people we wouldn't normally see interviewed? Yes, yes, yes and motherfucking yes. Some episodes are weaker than others, but that's kind of obvious and has nothing to do with the show itself. There's a lot of hate and a lot of criticism. Don't mistake criticism for hate, even though you might not like or agree with the criticism. Just do it like Day9. Never read anything and have your friends tell you only of the good things that are written and said about yourself, so you think everything is love, peace and harmony. That way everybody can believe that the SC2 community is awesome.

Im not worried, i almost never watch this show unless there's a interesting guest, otherwise i have enough with LO3 and ITG. It's just funny to see that JP just doesn't get it.

The "show" was going to be a quick one-off about a huge thing that happened in the world of eSports yesterday, and then you shit on him and the "show" because he can't answer (business wise) the questions iNcontrol asked. The show was literally planned 15 minutes prior to going on air and I'm in NYC with zero SotG assets except for the vid intro and intro/outro music -- no art. Production was terrible but the content was there and I would of rather have the exclusivity (LOL) / timeliness of the topic rather then waiting a week to discuss it. The idiocy and pure bullshit this community feeds its personalities makes people want to quit on a daily basis. If I didn't have friends on the show that made me enjoy it and was just doing this myself, I would of quit long, long ago. Lay off the fucking kool-aid and think for yourself rather then joining the mob, getting pitchforks, and making people / tournaments / organizations drop all interactivity on social media. User was warned for this post (unnecessary flaming) You have to understand what it looks like to the average watcher and that your image says to them: corporate sellout/shill. I also agree that some in the community went overboard and overreacted but you have to turn a blind eye. If you don't think there is any critism to be had for what happened yesterday then I think it shows how deep into the old boys club you really are. Yea unique because you work with the guy which in turn doesn't make it unique. Bring iNcontroL on was the right idea. The fact that it was planned 15 minutes only made it look worse and I don't mean from a production standpoint. Why not wait a week? Hell why not for this one time try to go back to the old time slot to talk about this. I mean wasn't it a few SOTGs ago where you said that they hadn't announced this yet and so you couldn't talk about it. Why didn't they get more planned out ahead of time especially cause you work for MLG. Your reply adds more to the flames then what most of the community has said. You read way, way too much into things thinking the majority of SC community is in outrage why do the personalities/pros always overreact too, come on think about it. A lot of people are upset with the agreement between Kespa and MLG too. Why does Sundance wield all this power? Why does he get to decide what other tournaments get to go to besides MLG? How does he get to decide what is best for this players? This just shows that there needs to be a better international body for SC2 than something like G7. This is a scenario where too much power is in one man's hands and really the only checks and balances is the community having to go into an outrage over it. Look in this thread on reddit: Talking about your respond. One with the most upvotes is an overreaction. Is the whole community behind him? NO of course not. Look JP both sides made mistakes, lets just apologize and move on.

Also, why was JP warned for unnecessary flaming. Seeing the amount of shit we as a community just dumped on him, I don't see the unnecessary part of it.

A lot of people (of varying degrees of self-entitlement) would attack (or troll) community members, regardless how much contribution he or she does for e-sports (or in SC2 in particular).. all under the guise of "criticism". Look at what this "community" did to Milkis for example. Yeah, because Milkis really didn't cause it himself.. But it does mean that he's better than 95% of the people listening to his casts. 2nd of all, has he ever casted anything besides MLG? It doesn't seem like he wants to cast. It seems as if MLG would like to have JP casting, not the other way around. Honestly I don't know how some of you aren't being warned/banned for whats being said. It's embarrassing. He casted blizzcon. On May 13 2012 00:33 BaconofWar wrote: I'm sorry JP that we members of the community have taken part in this asinine shit of a flame session. I realize people aren't getting rich, but it's a place 99% of us business stiffs would give our left arms to be in. So I understand the pressure, I understand the work and the difficulties of fame. And I also understand getting frustrated and flying off the handle every once in awhile. I don't think anyone is above that. But seriously, any sort of criticism people get, deserved or undeserved, is a perfectly valid result of your job. Casters/players/anyone else. Let's not lose sight of that fact.

For me SOTG used to be something I looked forward to every week. So what has changed? I think the inconsistent schedule has directly caused the show to suffer. Shows appear to be thrown together at the last minute. From JP's perspective, without knowing when shows are going to be, it is hard to do the proper preparation. MLG topics are easy to talk about because JP intimately knows them. I don't think the show has to be MLG centric. There is always more that could be discussed on the show. Hopefully SOTG finds a day of the week and sticks with it. That would probably solve most of the issues. TL;DR Many of us really enjoy SOTG, we're just concerned with its quality lately.

Seeing the amount of shit we as a community just dumped on him, I don't see the unnecessary part of it. you sound like you have confidence issues. JP made a shoddy show to promote an announcement made the company he works for, some people took issue with this. you don't have to hold a knife to your stomach and beg for forgiveness because an esports personality threw a tantrum over legitimate criticism. anyone parroting the pitchfork witch-hunt narrative that certain personalities are overtly eager to sew, in order throw a firewall up between them and criticism, needs to seriously consider developing their critical faculties.

Other than that I feel really bad for JP. He just wanted to allow the community to ask sundance some questions about this huge announcement, personally I really enjoyed the show and thought it was really cool that they put it together so quickly. The sc2 community nowadays really needs to pull the stick out of their asses and chill out more, the fact that sponsors are getting messaged on a almost weekly base for some random shit, tournaments are flammed for stuff instead of praised for the fact that we even have these amazing tournaments all over the planet and now we also bitch about free content? I really wish I could go back in time and kick the morrons who led up to orbs loosing his job/destiny getting shitted on/jp raging on the community (rightful imo) in their fucking asses. The most ironic part is that I'm probably gonna get banned from tl for expressing my opinion, cool censorship guys. User was temp banned for this post.
