Thanks for this special edition SOTG =D
Was pretty much the first time I had the opportunity to watch anything Sotg related live
Screw the few haters, no one ever listened to them in real life so this is their chance to be the true dickhead that they always wanted to be ;>

Wow, it really sucks to see the negativity getting to JP. I doubt he will see even want to read this thread at this point, but I just hope he will keep in mind that the majority loves SotG and appreciates what he and the others bring to the community, despite all the nitpicking.

The show was literally planned 15 minutes prior to going on air and I'm in NYC with zero SotG assets except for the vid intro and intro/outro music -- no art. Production was terrible but the content was there and I would of rather have the exclusivity (LOL) / timeliness of the topic rather then waiting a week to discuss it.
The idiocy and pure bullshit this community feeds its personalities makes people want to quit on a daily basis. If I didn't have friends on the show that made me enjoy it and was just doing this myself, I would of quit long, long ago. Lay off the fucking kool-aid and think for yourself rather then joining the mob, getting pitchforks, and making people / tournaments / organizations drop all interactivity on social media. This post and the fact that an important and responsible person of the SCII community posted something like this, makes me just sad. Ever since the first days of State of The Game you can hear JP complaining about the so called "haters". It seems like there is no distinction between people critizing and people who just talk... "idiocy and pure bullshit". I hope one day you, JP, will realize that the viewers/users/buyers of a product x determine what the product should look like. That doesnt mean that you have to accept insults from people. But about what numbers are you talking there? 1 to a maximum of 5 %? Most people viewing the show are not even responding to the content by comments on reddit or TL. Calm down and realize that in all the jobs you will do in your life, customers will play a more or less important role. Also you will always get in touch with customers who are way more insulting on a much more personal level to you than those random forum posts here. Again theres a difference between constructive and deconstructive criticism. I think anyone who has followed SotG any knows that almost every episode gets some criticism yet JP has never blown up like this. The problem is the constant deconstructive criticism isn't helping anyone and anyone in his position would also be greatly annoyed by it. You are lumping all criticism's in an equal group and that is misleading. If you have a valid complaint or concern and you present it in a respectable manner I doubt JP or most other professionals in the community would take issue with that. As im sure you can admit an overwhelming amount of criticism on TL is either baseless or makes sense but delivered in a disrespectful way. Also to consider people who watch SotG as customers is wrong, its free. Customers purchase things and since no one is paying for anything in reference to the show people should be more grateful and less disgustingly entitled and disrespectful.
You didnt read my post correctly, right?

I haven't even watched the latest SotG yet, but I just want to say that I DO appreciate what JP and all the others involved are doing, and many others with me! It's completely free content so no-one has any right to make demands in any way, if you don't like it, don't watch, EZPZ.
Now that I got that off my chest, time to watch the show to see what Sundance does/does not say

I really don't expect much from any internet community. What I observe is that there are no sacred cows in this on-going "witch hunt". A lot of people (of varying degrees of self-entitlement) would attack (or troll) community members, regardless how much contribution he or she does for e-sports (or in SC2 in particular).. all under the guise of "criticism". Look at what this "community" did to Milkis for example.

You didnt read my post correctly, right? Ummm yes I think I did. Did you read mine. Who are the customers here? Customers purchase products, to my knowledge state of the game is free. No customers involved. While it would be decent for JP to take constructive criticism and use it to better his show (which I think he has done) he doesn't have to. He's not selling us SotG, he's offering it up for free. Where did I lose you at?

I'm a big fan of the whole State of the Game crew and all, I love the show they did yesterday. Incontrol asked the questions everyone wanted so in all it was successful.
The only thing I hate is the inconsistent dates of the show. You can almost never plan "ok next week it's State of the Game" it's always 3days tops it gets announced. All you have to do is to take a look at the OP in the thread...
And this whole internet community bs, I have no idea why you even care JP. The bad community will only grow now because of your reaction, you should have done a Orb instead.

Quoting an opinion better expressed than mine. JP holds absolutely no value in the community. The only thing he does is bring together people who actually have some input into the scene, but then he hinders them with his inevitable MLG bias and general ignorance about the scene. I watch SOTG from time to time despite JP, just because there's nowhere else I can see Day9, Artosis, Nony, Incontrol talk about SC2... DJWheat is no better than JP, but for different reasons...
I believe the market is wide open for a SC2 talk show. Hopefully somebody new goes for it...

If people do not enjoy the show and feel like criticizing it, why don't hey just turn it off, and d something else ?

These things cut both ways. SotG does a service to the SC2 community, but the community is the reason SotG exists. I doubt anyone would do a podcast nobody listens to about something nobody cares about. Dissing the SC2 community in general, as opposed to simply those who raise vocal complaints; is an example of the sort of thing that has lead to many of the complaints. As a listener, I often do get the sense that the personalities involved are callously dismissive of the community which is responsible for most if not all of their jobs. Listeners should be grateful that these guys are taking time to provide a free service, but as I said: these things cut both ways. SotG provides the personalities involved with exposure that can help them further their career via profiting their teams, businesses, etc. Calling the SC2 community "ignorant" strikes me as no better than anything said in the offending Reddit thread.

I like JP and appreciate his efforts. I hope he never stops/changes.

I haven't watched/heard the last show yet, so I dunno what the hub bub is about. I found the word ungrateful interesting though. No one's doing me a favor here even if I like the show. I am indeed not grateful.

I for one appreciated the special edition and felt it clarified a lot to me. If you happen to read this, JP, I and a lot of people appreciate what you do. You are one of the best content-providers in the community. Please don't quit.

Fucking reddit.....
Those idiots have no idea how Kespa works at all.

By that logic, some of the best talk show hosts have absolutely no value in the world. Dumbass.
