If this were Dreamhack, IPL or GSL then i dont think people would react the same way. So i get why the host got upset but i dont think JP realizes the blunders that MLG has made and why many people have a negative attitude towards them. Whereas nobody outright dislikes IPL, GSL or Dreamhack. The critique, anger and resentment isent directed as much at JP or SOTG, but far moreso at MLG, especially in light of this MLG-Kespa thing that may be a positive but could also be a gigantic negative to SC2 community. And the reason many are upset with STOG specifically is that the show does not call out MLG on the bad things they do. MLG is put on a pedestal and everything they do is good. Incontrol tried to ask som important questions in the latest STOG regarding the exclusivity but got some generic bullshit answers that didn't answer shit. Yet the answers were not called out, they were accepted. This is what makes STOG a giant advertisement for MLG and this draws complaints. I will ask it again. Why is it all of a sudden news to people? Are you new to SoTG? Have you not watched other episodes regarding MLG material where similar things happened? Quite the contrary, I did not feel this was an advertisement for MLG at all. It's a huge ass deal in the Starcraft world that Kespa is actually playing nice with another league, let alone a foreign league. It should have its own impromptu show discussing the deal. If you view this past show as just an interview with Sundance re: the agreement, will it make you feel better? I doubt it. There will always be shit to pick on within this community. No i do not care shit for what they call it. The problem is with what the product is and it's fucking weak that they can not try to call out MLG on what the community wants to know about, the exclusivity. The whole latest episode was only a platform for Sundance and Lee to state how good they are in getting Kespa to partner up to them without responding to the communities questions. "fucking weak that they can not try to call out MLG on what the community wants to know about." Did you watch the same episode I did? I could have sworn Geoff did call out Sundance and press the issue with regards to the exclusivity wording, well, he at least "tried" as you would put it. The platform for Sundance and Lee is actually the announcement thread that was posted yesterday. This past SoTG was an opportunity to get more answers regarding the deal and what it would mean. If you don't like the answers Sundance provided, you should probably contact him and voice your disdain towards him, not the host of the show....who btw, works for the guy.

Seriously think that the mods need to see that. @Notyetawoman: There is no need to use profanity and make it personal? We are all here to have positive contributions and if you don't want to participate I suggest you look at the TL rules or just leave this site. As for my opinion on the matter, well JP provides the community with a service. Yes a service, and not one where he explicitly gets paid a dime. He does the show cos he likes to. He provides streams where he plays computer games, cos he likes to. JP got to where he is now, because of his hard work and dedication. I'm willing to cut the guy some slack. JP, plz don't listen to those lil trolls who don't understand what it is, ur actually doing. Keep going and thanks for bringing us SOTG in any shape and format, and I certainly am impressed that Sundance volunteered to just come on the show impromptu and share his ideas with a slightly borderline aggressive incontrol (but he did have some good questions)! Look forward to the next show!

What's stopping those people from doing what he's doing? Did I miss something, did someone just handed this position to JP or did he worked for it for years now? they're doing their show, they can do however they like it. If you like it -> watch it. If you don't like -> gtfo, save yourself some trouble and time. Is he protected by god himself? pretty much everyone here is in position they deserved this way or another. It means that enough people appreciate what they're doing so they can maintain their position. If there were someone that much better, why don't we have some better, improved sotg2?

The show was literally planned 15 minutes prior to going on air and I'm in NYC with zero SotG assets except for the vid intro and intro/outro music -- no art. Production was terrible but the content was there and I would of rather have the exclusivity (LOL) / timeliness of the topic rather then waiting a week to discuss it. The idiocy and pure bullshit this community feeds its personalities makes people want to quit on a daily basis. If I didn't have friends on the show that made me enjoy it and was just doing this myself, I would of quit long, long ago. Lay off the fucking kool-aid and think for yourself rather then joining the mob, getting pitchforks, and making people / tournaments / organizations drop all interactivity on social media. This post and the fact that an important and responsible person of the SCII community posted something like this, makes me just sad. Ever since the first days of State of The Game you can hear JP complaining about the so called "haters". It seems like there is no distinction between people critizing and people who just talk... "idiocy and pure bullshit". I hope one day you, JP, will realize that the viewers/users/buyers of a product x determine what the product should look like. That doesnt mean that you have to accept insults from people. But about what numbers are you talking there? 1 to a maximum of 5 %? Most people viewing the show are not even responding to the content by comments on reddit or TL. Calm down and realize that in all the jobs you will do in your life, customers will play a more or less important role. Also you will always get in touch with customers who are way more insulting on a much more personal level to you than those random forum posts here.

Again theres a difference between constructive and deconstructive criticism. I think anyone who has followed SotG any knows that almost every episode gets some criticism yet JP has never blown up like this. The problem is the constant deconstructive criticism isn't helping anyone and anyone in his position would also be greatly annoyed by it. You are lumping all criticism's in an equal group and that is misleading. If you have a valid complaint or concern and you present it in a respectable manner I doubt JP or most other professionals in the community would take issue with that. As im sure you can admit an overwhelming amount of criticism on TL is either baseless or makes sense but delivered in a disrespectful way. Also to consider people who watch SotG as customers is wrong, its free. Customers purchase things and since no one is paying for anything in reference to the show people should be more grateful and less disgustingly entitled and disrespectful.

Tip, you're one of the people not helping, chances are you won't stay around too long if you talk like that in this community doesn't matter if it's to JP or to some no name also with 15 posts. i dont feel i responded in a disturbing nor an unintelligent way, my response was to his comment and fit perfectly with my views on that response. as for me not helping out? what do u know about that, i support streams/go to events. theres not much more that i can do.its not charity anymore, you actully can make a living doing this now. if one cant handle critisism you honestly dont deserve the spot that person is in, now thats a fact!!. Umm, that's not a fact. That's an opinion. You've gotta learn the differences man. A fact is something that can not be refuted, such as: wood comes from trees. Water when frozen turns into ice.
