That makes no sense. The whole point of haviing orb on is to talk about the scandal, otherwise why have him on the show at all? I see no value in having him on if you're not going to talk about the issue everyone wants to hear about.
People are interested in judging him. The issue has already been talked about...
People just want to bash Orb. They'd like nothing better than to see him exiled from the SC2 community. It's ridiculous but much of the SC2 community, especially reddit are quick to pounce on any drama they can find. They've got a bad case of schadenfreude.
im fairly certain you used schadenfreude wrong either that or it was taught to me wrong, the way i know it is taking pleasure in other peoples pain as a relief that it wasn't their own pain under this definition i wouldn't have used schadenfreude here
a better word (assuming i learned schadenfreude right) would be bloodlust due to the fact that when they chase someone down they do so in the hopes of destroying them completely and utterly....seriously how many times has this happened? two? three? the main instances that i remember are this orb scandal and back when there was a woman casting for gsl a while back and they just trashed her constantly
i feel like this bloodlust has got to go, while i do not condone orbs actions i do feel as though this particular instance (like the others) went way out of proportion and that needs to be stopped, the community does not need to constantly be on a caster witch hunt nor does it need to constantly treat every other community like shit really this kind of mass hatred towards casters and players is just frustrating and annoying

If the SOTG hosts want to chime in on the thread, than fine, but can we keep this kind of outrage (at outrage) in the other threads?
No offense, it's just that this thread gets hijacked so much.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it bloodlust. O.o They don't want to kill Orb. I mean schadenfreude as in "taking pleasure in another's misfortune".

Well, State of the Game covers many topics, and having Orb on the show is one of them. I think it's healthy to discuss controversial topics as long as there's no outright trolling and namecalling.

oh ok, that's fairly fitting...well internet bloodlust they definitely would have him permanently exiled from the community if they could get away with it

I'd rather suggest topics for hosts to talk about this thread or discuss their opinions on topics. We could do 150 pages on this issue alone if we wanted, right?

But that controversy is the sole reason JP even asked to have orb on the show. If this scandal did not happen, where would orb rank on the guest list JP would want on the show? I'd say pretty far down the list. If they're not going to talk about it, then just don't bother having orb on the show and get another guest instead.
It seems strange that orb has been punished for the incident and now he is rewarded by being brought on to SotG. I don't think he should be on any shows. Orb needs some time out from the community for a while imo until things blow over.

Having Orb be on SotG is a good opportunity to address an issue with gaming that probably needs to be addressed especially if the goal is to keep growing competitive gaming.
are you basing that assumption on the fact that there is a 140 page thread and multiple reddit threads on the matter?
I'm basing it on the constant pleas for more strategy discussion in this thread that span over a year and the numerous posts in this thread asking them not to talk about the orb drama with very few people asking them to.
edit: also multiple shitshow bickering threads is not justification for why a topic should make the show; there's no real discussion to be had because I would be shocked if any of the hosts were willing to actually support orb for fear of backlash from their sponsors/bosses/fans. Way too touchy of a subject for anyone except someone like Destiny to actually speak their mind.
Yes more strategy less 'controversy'. Artosis's defense of a theoretical Mech play in TvP was interesting and engaging. 'controversy' topics are boring, and I think everyone on the show except iNc seems bored of talking about them.
We're going to discuss it, then bring him on ask him 2-3 questions, he'll say his part, and then we'll say thanks for coming on, and move on.
They aren't going to spend the whole show on it.
i feel better now.
it changes my: "wait wait wait wait wait wait wait, you're bringing him on to talk to not talk to talk to not talk but its not because becuase wait what the fuck" to
Just going to skip the bit with Orb on it, thankfully JP said it'll only take up a small part of the show.
Maybe try and get Feast on? Definitely the foreigner story of IEM, hope to see more of him in the future. I'm sure Nony will have studied his reps as well so we could get some STRAT TALK! Although it'd likely be 4am for him to be on live....

Unless if used in English "schadenfreude" has a different meaning than the original German "Schadenfreude" you learned it wrong. It's just taking pleasure in others pain.
Instead of just displaying what happened and having orb apologize again I feel like they should rather address how sensitive the sc2 community is when it comes to trash talk, especially when it's vs random players on ladder.
Also as much as I love day, if he isn't on again for this one maybe catz should just replace him permanently, I felt like he went well with the show.
