That's good to hear, it sounded from JP's tweets that you guys were gonna spend time on it, and frankly it wouldn't be a good show topic.
A good side-topic would be the massive witch-hunting mentality of the SC2 community compared to any other community out there. Haven't experienced anything like that in all my online gaming community life (not only the Orb thing).
And a game (which is primarily for online purpose) also includes a factor community.

Calling it a "witch-hunt" implies that the people who were upset were unnecessarily offended, which just brings up the conversation they're hopefully planning to avoid (ie whether orb deserved to be dismissed or not). It's not a witch-hunt if there's a legitimate problem.

I'm not offended by orb, but I don't care what he has to say about anything really, I watch SotG to hear Day9, Artosis, Tyler and incontrol's opinons about recent starcraft events and strats. If they are going to waste time on orb making excuses for some dumb shit he did I'm less likely to watch yes, but it's not because I'm offended, it's because I'm not interested.

"witch hunt" implies that the person(s) being "hunted" are innocent and the accusations being leveled are baseless or imaginary. People calling out orb for using the n-word is something he absolutely is guilty of, as was what people got all up in arms about the Katu/Dragon incident. You can call it an overreaction or something, but "witch-hunt" is definitely not anywhere close to the right term.

There are just people who don't care about how much money MLG makes or which public figure has said what word and so on.

"overreaction" is very much not the same as "witch-hunt." You can overreact to something that actually happened, whereas "witch-hunt" means by definition that the thing that people reacting to is not a real thing (like witches). I hate to sound condescending, but this might be a misunderstanding borne out of English being your second language.

I agree entirely. I, on the other hand, wasn't offended at all, but regardless it isn't worth spending more than a couple of minutes on. There are far more worthwhile topics of conversation.

I'm gonna watch either way, since as Tyler said they probably won't spend much time on it (if at all). Frankly, though, there's more important stuff going on in the community that more people care about than the orb business, which frankly seems to just be a small number of loud people bickering back and forth (myself being one of them). IEM, Lone Star Clash, Red Bull LAN, GSTL, KSL, IPL TAC, EWM, EG MCSL, Iron Squid, etc... there's lots of things that they can talk about. Hell, I'm pretty sure most people would rather just hear a general metagame discussion than hear them talk about orb drama.

Its not only a matter of being offended. For one orb isn't an offensive person outside of ladder games where he rages. The reason I think a lot of people would not like him to be on because its been discussed to death. He apologized, what else is there for him to say? I just don't see it being an interesting conversation. I just hope that if he is on he is only on for the beginning of the show in an interview rather than him being a host for the week.

I'm basing it on the constant pleas for more strategy discussion in this thread that span over a year and the numerous posts in this thread asking them not to talk about the orb drama with very few people asking them to.
edit: also multiple shitshow bickering threads is not justification for why a topic should make the show; there's no real discussion to be had because I would be shocked if any of the hosts were willing to actually support orb for fear of backlash from their sponsors/bosses/fans. Way too touchy of a subject for anyone except someone like Destiny to actually speak their mind.
