and i thought cnc players were the most massive rts whining community out there, in sc people have to publicly announce they're whining on a sponsored team? perhaps blizzard has not done anything...because the game is pretty close to balanced? Just imagine this were Brood War, without the pro scene and other things, with the type of whining in the SC2 community they already would have nerfed science vessels, defilers, etc. in brood war just due to massive public opinion - even if it was wrong. not saying the game is perfectly balanced right now, but the game has barely been out a month, not all the options have been exhausted, not every timing has been hit or found out. Still more to learn. | ||

The problem here isn't only that Zerg has a tough time handling the 39439 openings P and especially T can do, it's also the fact that Zerg is generally a much harder race to play and win with. I'm always on the recieving end, and my macro mechanics are way more unforgiving and even in every battle I always am at dis-advantage and need to rely on superior macro and superior tactics to win. While my opponent rolls in with a ball of death. Be it mass storm, mass tank, mass colossus etc. At the same time I need to worry about droning and unit producing. If I do something too much, I'm in danger of losing entirely because of it. If I happen to get it right, great. This all is fine with me. I don't mind being in the ''defensive'' role. I just want things to be balanced. I've just noticed that as a Zerg, I hardly can win by just busting their base. Mainly because of my relatively immobile army. Roaches and Speedlings are mobile, but too bad you need Hydralisks which off creep are horrible. The only offensive attack I can do 95% of my games is after I destroyed their army entirely, and hope they don't have enough to defend. But Siege tanks on ramps, colossus, storm, force field etc are all great ways to deflect a counter from Zerg. So on in otherwords, I usually win by starving the T or P. But if they happen to win a battle, they will roll up my natural, set up camp and destroy my units that spawn from larvas before they can regroup. For the swarm!... | ||

As a pro gamer, why would you play with an inferior race? Think about it for a second, it makes no sense. This is your job. Imagine getting a contract for digging at at construction site. You start using a excavator, suddenly some dude comes up to you and says "Olololol! Why don't you use a shovel? The excavator is so imba!" That's pretty much what you're saying. Also, Idra switched pretty much right away, right when the beta started. Zerg was awesome back then (people still have wet dreams about early beta Roach). | ||

(T was "useless" race on release for those that didn't know, even when it remained unchanged people started getting really good with it when it wasn't believable) Maybe Idra will be our Zerg Boxer....I think that'll support his "Job" way more than playing the flavor of the month race. You think boxer would have been near as cool and well paid if he stuck with reaver harassment every game? | ||

Agreed, I come from AoE and the community is so much more mature than this one. The balance problems were far worse in AoE but the good players who played the weaker races took it as a creative challenge. On SC2 the good players take it as an opportunity to find excuses for themselves. It really is disappointing and a huge turn off from this game. I think the people who say SC has the greatest community are either wrong or I just am not seeing it. | ||
