who cares what you're portrait is if you played 1000 custom games against a friend who was afk? it has nothing to do with skill, or anything else..just seems like fluff to put us off about the real problems (cough cough chatrooms, LAN, cross regional support cough cough)

if the match-making service puts you up against your friend 1000 times in a row like would have to happen to get that portrait and achievement then you'd be lucky not skillful i agree.

also they are a step closer to LAN by adding the verification to the map editor.

Yeah, some of them are completely unrealistic. I don't really care about achievements though. If I get one it's like "oh cool." But that's it. You might have some crazy completionists that absolutely MUST do them all.

lol. In the options, under bnet. There is a slider for Toast duration, and although i havne't tested it, I have a feeling it controls the time that "Friend has appeared online" messages appear for and not achievement bubbles.

Anyone notice the AI got a lot harder today on insane and very hard? LOL

Finally AI that provides some sort of challenge. Was owning it up the other day and now me and my friend are getting consecutive losses to the AI and we're plat/diamond players lol.

You guys should try it out now on co-op if you haven't given it ago!

If you get an achievement against any AI, you get all the achievements for all the lower difficulties too. So, you only have to complete them once against insane!

I thought some of them were ridiculously hard, but I'm not really focusing on achievements anyway.

Obviously, there is going to be a group of people who are going to race to see who can be the first to obtain all of the achievements... and since it appeals to some people, I think it's not a terrible thing to have. I don't care as much, so I'm not going to complain about the concept per se.

If I'm going to keep getting these arbitrary achievements though (Oh cool my opponents left within 30 seconds = I got the "no idle workers for more than x seconds" achievement), I'm just hoping I get notified AFTER the game ends, not during. If we could turn them off or something, that would be cool too. The only achievements I really care about are the different profiles I've unlocked

whats so bad about them? if u dont want them dont do them (except the ones u get w/out doing anything^^)
and the achievements thing in game is not that bad its only there for second and doesn't block anything
