there is NO WAY IN HELL I'm gonna buy that game (unless they change their attitude and features, that is). If they think they can force their customers into thinking sub par features are a good thing they must be crazy (but since customers are stupid they will probably still succeed). their comments on map of the week (only aknowledging war3 motw) also shows that they have nothing in common with the blizzard of 10 years ago.

You did need to have access to an EU account, though. My login info doesn't work on the EU login server, I need to use someone else's account to be able to log on.

People are delusional if they ever thought that blizzard cared about e-sports.

Look at Starcraft 1, a giant flook, the entire e-sports community worked and modded that game to give it all the features that they wanted.

Starcraft 2 is doing exactly what everyother game making company is doing. It dumbs down its games and puts its development team to work on features that will sell copies of the game. Who cares if when you get to the deepest parts of the game it sucks. All it takes is reading about exciting features like facebook integration and the graphics engine to get nerds to buy.

That is what they get paid for and that is what they will continue to do.

That being said I will still probably buy this game and probably buy 2 copies of it to play on different servers because the money will still be there in tournaments and i would like a chance to win .

Edit:

Did anyone else notice that with our comments about how it felt meaningless to be in division 735 they decided to rename the divisions to names so you really now have even less information about the pool your in.

Good luck to even the websites attempting to unify all the data when they have no idea how many divisions to add.

I think they are just out of touch and have been for a long time. Even things like the league development kit for bw was so badly designed

935 obviously doesn't come close to denting their overall sales figure.

But damn, 935 will put the hurt on their ratings for online retailers. Currently SC1 Battle chest only has 300 reviews total on amazon, and that has been out forever. This WILL get Blizzard's attention, if it comes down to it.

It only took about 700 1-star votes on Spore to get a response from EA.

This works in Beta before patch 10 i think but from what I've heard for the retail version, Blizzard will tie the CD keys to accounts in regions. So if your CD key was registered to a US Bnet account it will not identify you if you attempt to log in on the EU server just because of the fact they are from different regions / databases.

I think the best thing you guys could do, rather than bitching, would just be to virally spread this interview EVERYWHERE. TL, while a valuable resource for balancing, is obviously not where blizz is looking for their social feedback. Most people are pretty happy with the bnet 2.0, as they simply don't want the features we do, they're only going to play the game for its 'natural' life, e.g. about six months, or less, and not get involved in anything else.

But, this interview is *so* bad I think even these people will notice it. If you spread it virally then bliz may be forced to pay more attention to what they say, at the very least. so twitter and FB your disdain, blog link the interview, post it in your sig. Get the rage machine pumping out from this site, and you might actually get some results

Is there going to be any kind of work to resolve that issue, to get them onto an English-speaking server of some description?

You know, it depends on the technology infrastructure provided by the telecommunications providers. It's something that we'll be constantly evaluating and looking at. In an ideal world, the Blizzard gaming community would be unified in one global region, but the technology's just not there yet. Ten years ago, we weren't making 3D games. Hopefully, in the same way that we're making 3D games today and we weren't ten years ago, down the road the connectivity in terms of the internet will be such that we can bring everyone together in a unified community, but it's just not possible right now. That's the ideal world.

[BC: The other thing is that the Asian players are playing on an English client, so they should be able to speak enough English to communicate a "gg" or "attack now," "help." Singapore is an English speaking country, the Philippines is an English-speaking country...]

Hong Kong.

[BC: It's not like it's going to be one Australian surrounded by 500,000 Thai people. There's going to be plain English spoken.]

Plus, isn't StarCraft 2 the universal language of RTSes? How much English do you need to speak to communicate with your opponent and kick his ass? [Laughs]

This man has a point. I mean he REALLY gets it. You're not gonna want to talk to that motherfucker. You're gonna want to look up his facebook account and find every person he cares about and really make that son of a bitch suffer.

Fortunately, for the price of a SC2 game, you can!

Also, is it out of line because of the intent... or because [as most people wont email to say no], that I actually can?

Seriously you completely missed that. I didn't find anything offensive in his post.

Then again most of your posts are quite bad.

EDIT: and your edit clarifies that you have no idea what you read.

He was threatening no one's family, he was making fun of Blizzard for allowing others to see those things. He was referring to an imaginary opponent, and hence wasn't insulting anyone.

You just entirely missed it. Also, leave modding to the moderators, they get it even if you don't.

Sarcasm doesn't translate well over the Internet.
Better to not be sarcastic in the first place, or add a "just kidding" or a couple of smilies in the end.
