so you know, the idea of switching servers is 99.999999% of games is stupidly easy. Theres a file that you can open with notepad and on it is a website. you can change that website to whatever...thats how you changed your servers in WoW if you wanted to play EU or play a custom server, which some were a blast. Its excruciatingly easy to change servers so the idea of buying a whole new client to simply change a url is insane. I dont think he actually knew what he was saying.

only if it's done out of spite. otherwise it's just clever and harsh. When a company isn't listening to it's long time fans (which I would say TL.net is mostly comprised of), then I think drastic and creative measures have to be taken. i personally have bought multiple copies of every pc game they have sold, including expansions, even including wow. and i know im not alone in that around TL actually there was a wow expansion i only bought 1 copy of lol
same here. i think ive bought like 5 copies of SC, 2 copies of LOD and D2, 1 copy of D1, couple of Warcraft 2, 2 of Frozen throne and W3:reign of chaos.
only game i havent bought is basically Warcraft 1 and WoW (i have no interest) i am not buying sc2. i cant support the direction blizzard is heading with this.
i have a question.... is the SC2 expansion packs going to require the previous installation of the earlier games (like diablo2 and lord of destruction) or are they going to be stand alone games? I mean..... UGH that is ALOT OF FREAKING MONEY!

I want the old B.net back I really dont like the way B.net 2.0 is going, it just seems like they want everyone to be for themselves, with no chat rooms, and go for the MM over and over. And I sure as hell dont want to buy 3 extra copies just to play with my friends in the US.

What the hell kind of replies were those. I have so little faith now.

They integrated crossrealm play 10 years ago in sc:bw and now at this day and age he blames it on the poor connection and that technology isnt there yet. WHAT?

it's such bullshit it would take them no time at all to implement this if they wanted to Well you can only make one account with 1 CD-key, so they'd have to transfer your existing account back and forth between regions, including your published maps and all that stuff. Then there would be the issue of matchmaking matching you with people who have insane ping and constantly lag. And how would the ladders work if somebody from Korean Diamond league came to an another region? If you dropped him to Bronze he would dominate everybody, skew up the system. On the other hand if somebody gets to Diamond on USA ladder he could then transfer to Korea to be at Diamond ladder, even if he's completely outmatched there.
Even so I'm a bit shocked they don't think it's a big deal. >_> Tournaments are such a hassle if people have to constantly borrow accounts.

A game that isn't going to be changed to be more exciting and fun to play, all within a Bnet 2.0 that is terrible? No thanks. Sorry Blizzard, I'm not paying you $50 anymore.

I am really considering canceling my pre-order and just get the game threw alternative means, cause seems like with the state of battlenet, i will only be interested in the single player.

Or they can just let you make one account on each server for each cd key you have. Then you would just do placement matches and ladder like normal. If you lag then thats your own fault for laddering on a foreign server.

We really need to find a way to get this story out there in the gaming media.
The only way to get Blizzard to react is with bad press.

... so what happened to that thing that was 'better than chat channels'. Oh you guys still wanted that? Heh heh.
Not so good.
|
My biggest issue is the lack of chat channels and the league system. I want to be able to talk with people organize& take part in events, AND I WANT TO KNOW MY SERVER/GLOBAL RANK.

935 responses willing to post a 1-star rating in protest.
935 obviously doesn't come close to denting their overall sales figure.
But damn, 935 will put the hurt on their ratings for online retailers. Currently SC1 Battle chest only has 300 reviews total on amazon, and that has been out forever. This WILL get Blizzard's attention, if it comes down to it.

I'd take Bashiok's post with a grain of salt. He is a low-level forum mod who specializes in Diablo3 news and reports, and he's way way out of his element in responding to SC2 stuff. His opinion there is just that, his opinion, and despite his blue text that should not be considered an official Blizzard stance. If you take a look at a lot of Bashiok's other posts and his flippant and sometimes condescending attitude, you'll understand.
