To me it sounds like they dont have an interest to stop OSL and MSL, just loosen up some old bonds. Thats a quote of GOM-TV, not blizzard, so it doesnt reveal anything about blizz's intentions.

Does this mean we'll have custom ladders for tournaments?

I knew this would happen. GOM was the obvious partnership for Blizzard, especially after the Kespa deal fell through.

Is it exclusive, like... we signed it's your, if you want to make a pay to view/1hour of sc2 monthly/shitty tourneys and administration you can do whatever you want and nobody will be able to compete with you. or is it like, you can do whatever with the game, but if better prospects rise, i get them too. if it's the first case, it's gg msl, osl pl and bw in general... I'm exited cause it means sc2 is really going to happen in korea and i reaaallly hope korean bw scene doesn't get screwed by this

This is what Kespa gets for being stubborn. Beggers can't be choosers.

I remember waking up early, tuning in on my gomplayer and watching the gom tournaments was a good memory.

Also, if CJ actually owns both OGN and Gom-TV, OGN will live no matter what.
But that's given that CJ owns Gretech.

gg KeSPA, to be honest you were asking for it.
On another note, what I like about this news is that it is a statement from Blizzard that they are serious about getting the e-sports scene working for this game, by sorting these kinds of deals before the game goes retail.

To be honest I'd rather not see SDM back, but I do want Tasteless.

So in all likelyhood OGN will get rights from GOM, probably at the cost of having to pull out of KeSPA. And MBC is going to have to do the same. To be honest, pulling out from KeSPA means no more Pro-League (the teams are under KeSPA... remember the old Gom-TV Tournament situation?) It is my understanding that proleague was already dead when it came to SC2. KeSPA couldnt make a deal, so now the teams have no reason to stay under KeSPA and can just move to GOM/ the eventual OGN/MBC side deal.

Indeed, still kinda confusing cuz next MSL has already an sponsor, so the thing is, Who is gonna broadcast that event. Next MSL sponsor. OP @ TL.net source FoMos

The way I see this is like it's a very roundabout method of settling the Blizzard/KeSPA dispute. GomTV is owned by CJ Media, which is a member of KeSPA. This would suggest that OGN and MBCGame is going to be involved somewhere in this as well as other members of KeSPA as hinted by the remark about getting involved with other eSports entities.
Whatever the case, I'm curious to know what the details of this deal are... Have any been released?
If my suspicions are correct, this is probably going to make no difference in the eSports scene since KeSPA will still be pulling the strings from behind, just in another form.

Sounds like this could potentially be pretty awesome, hope everything goes as planned..

Artosis and tasteless for sure. For a 3rd I would be happy with susie or SDM. While I loved SDM there was something about nick and susie that was more enjoyable for me.
|
0_0 no way lol. Gom english was totally awesome but this doesn't sound like it is going to turn out well.
|
OGN and MBC can get in on this as well i hope. fuck KeSPA!

fuck yeah! stupid proteams boicotted GOM-tv starleague, now they grabbed the deal and Tasteless hopefully shall return! =)
