Dakota, is it normal that sc2gears takes up to 500mb of RAM?
Also it takes really long to actually load the application (black screen) and gets laggy over time

Thanks man^^

No, that's not normal. It starts in about 1 second, and initially it uses like 40 MB of RAM. If you analyze replays and run multi-rep analysis, it can go up to 200 MB though.

Sc2gears 8.9 has been released with Map attributes and with Plugin API 2.7.

Details are in the first post.

This new version is now mandatory for the Sc2gears Contest Series.

Quick question: do you have any idea why maps with GTAI or basically any script included can't be parsed with SC2Gears?

Now with v8.9, it displays "Parsing error!" when you open those replays, but the replay itself is working fine. The actions are still there, but SC2Gears can't seem to find them. It's been happening for quite a few versions of GTAI.

Probably maps with custom scripts cause SC2 to save custom data in the replay whose format is not known by Sc2gears.

Can you send me a few of these replays?

First, thanks for sc2gears, great program.

I play on both SEA / NA, along with the KR server with the TW client.

Is there any way I can convert the names of the maps I've played in TW/KR into english?

Cheers.

Yes, you can. Open the Misc settings dialog, and go to the Aliases tab.

There you can enter Map aliases. Each line defines a map alias group, the first name will be used, names added after that (comma separated) will be renamed to the group name (the first element).

Guess my early game defense could use some work.. haha (those are the games I played with Zerg in the last 12 months, I believe)
This post is clearly not a hurr, as you can see from the graph, the durr never intersects with the derp.

I was wondering if it would be possible to change the apm alert from e-apm to normal sc2gears apm. Im not sure how the whole thing works so excuse me if this is impossible to do.

APM values for the APM Alert are taken from the windows registry outputted by SC2. This is the only legit way of getting APM values during games, so I cannot use other APM values.
Note that these values are converted to real-time (if you did not disable it on the Analyzer tab of the Misc settings dialog).

Small suggestion: it would be great if the "open replay's folder" option opened the relevant folder and selected the replay you are interested in.

Program is superb, Dakota; I recently started using the SC2Gears database so I could play at both home and at work during lunchbreaks and keep all my replays in one place, and it works flawlessly. Very very easy to use

Unfortunately I have no control over what happens in the file manager that is opened. I can only launch it with a specific folder to open.

would wish that the program could make a win/lose ratio in the 3 matchups, so you can see how you are doing.
Dont think that is possible atm. or am i wrong, and if yes how do you do that?

But great site!!

Multi-replay analysis --> Double click your name (also a good idea to tick "auto-open first player") --> matchups.
(and yes, my ZvT is fucking terrible. Working on it!)

Reporting that I've implemented this requested feature on Windows: after opening the replay's folder, the replay file will be selected in the Explorer. Thanks to Hairy for the tip. This will be available in the next release.

Hey, does anyone know how to save replays into sub folders? I read https://sites.google.com/site/sc2gears/features/name-template-engine and still couldnt get it to work. I am trying to make a custom and ladder folder (in it will be 1v1/2v2 etc etc) so i can have everything be more organized. Can anyone help me please ^^?

\/f\/Y\/f /T - /m - </p(/r)>./e

That is my replay template I use. On my last replay that gives an output of:
\1v1\AutoMM\1v1 ZvP - Antiga Shipyard - Hairy(Z) vs Ilyusha(P).SC2Replay

So it names my replay: 1v1 ZvP - Antiga Shipyard - Hairy(Z) vs Ilyusha(P).SC2Replay
and places it in folder: [MySC2GearsReplayFolder]\1v1\AutoMM\

I have then added and saved new replay sources which point only to the subfolders I want, so if I want to look at my 1v1 private, 1v1 ladder, or team games, I simply double click the relevant replay source. Enjoy!

Simply start your name template with "/Y\". /Y is the game type, the backslash after that tells that the preceeding template is a subfolder name.
Game type for ladder games is "AutoMM", so you'll find your ladder games in the AutoMM subfolder. Other values of game type are "Private", "Public", "Single player".

For example:
/Y\/D - </p> /h./e

Will result in something like:
AutoMM\2011-09-20 04-49-00 - SCIIGears vs Dansanzpa MD5_USIaAFB021zBmBxxC2Dr9H.SC2Replay
