I have a question about the build order tab.

I haven't been able to figure out if there's a way for me to view MY build orders and exclude my opponents in a multi-rep analysis. I'm trying to see my win percentages using certain build orders, but there's no way to tell if all the Z builds are my own, or opponents from ZvZ games that I've played. Is it possible?

Quick question, reading this thread http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=259216 I notice it says you can make sc2gears detect old and new apm?

How do I do this? Curious on seeing the differences, thx

First please read this page: APM Types. If you still have questions, ask again.

When you do a Multi-rep analysis, you will see a "Build orders" tab which will show you all build orders found in the replays.
If you double click on your name on the "Players" tab, Sc2gears will open detailed statistics assembled only for your player. Under your player you will find another "Build orders" tab which will list only your build orders.

Thank you for the version 8.6 of sc2gears!

I found a look & view related issue regarding the new 'deferred tab' content creation feature. In Nimbus & EaSynthLookAndFeel everything is ok. But in all other look & feels the contents of the freshly opened tabs are not updated before the user either moves the mouse cursor or left clicks inside the tab content area (it depends on look & feel which of the latter updates the tab contents). The issue occurs both in the analyzer & multi-replay analysis.

As another matter I would suggest that if a replay has either public comments or private data it would be shown somehow in the tab header (color change, count of messages, etc), or otherwise people will not check those tabs as public comments will most likely be rare for most replays.

Thanks for the note. I already fixed the deferred tabs issue.

As to the Public comments and Private data tabs: when you open a replay, public comments and private data are not retrieved immediately, only when you click on those tabs. Having Sc2gears do those automatically would significantly increase the load of the back-end server (and slightly your network traffic). I do not wish to do download those info especially when most of the time people would not check those tabs. Maybe I add a check box in a future release where you can set to retrieve those automatically (but leaving it disabled by default).

Thanks!

One thing for sure is that it shows how much variation I have in regards to the first 6 buildings I make. Might explain a lot of the inconsistency I experience :p

You can pre-filter the replays you perform the Multi-rep analysis on. You can pre-filter by anything including the game date-time.

Hey Dakota,

any way to show what race the user chose? I'm thinking specifically for my games against Random players..
It shows me their race but doesn't list anywhere that they actually spawned random against me.
I'd like to know my stats vs. random players is what I'm trying to get at.

The chosen race (e.g. if it was random) can only be seen in the Replay analyzer. Multi-replay analysis uses the final race.

Can I request an enhancement to the 'Player' search/filter? Please correct me if I'm not going the right way about it... it relates to the logic of the player search in team matches.

Current: The player filter allows you to search for players/team combinations, where only the replays that match the specified entries in the list are returned. If you use the feature to add an additional 'rule' for player filters, it doesn't quite work as expected in certain scenarios, particularly the 'negative rules'.

(For example: If I do a 4v4 matchup filter, and I want to include all replays which don't contain 'Player 1' this works fine. If I add to this rule: does not equal 'Player 2' - this rule negates the first one, and the resulting list of replays contains the replays where 'Player 1' was a participant as it matched the second rule. If you have the rule that says: only replays that do not contain "Player 1, Player 2", it will only return the list of results where that specific combination of the two together, is not present. The intended aim was to exclude all replays that did not contain either Player 1 or Player 2 in any combination.)

Desire: What I would like is the search logic to be enhanced, so that additional rule logic can be incorporated...

(For example: I would like to do a search on all my replays, where players are 'not' Player 1, Player 2, Player 3, Player 4, Player 5 - or any combination of - and return a list that contains the replays where they are not present... or return a list of all replays that exclude 'Player 3' where he/she may be present in a combination of replays containing 'Player 1, Player 2' - where the intention is to find all replays with Player 1 and Player 2, but don't include Player 3.)

Practical use: Identify selective combinations of arranged teams for analysis; Be able to identify all replays where the player participates in 'random team' match-ups (where 'friends' are known).

Can you advise is this possible, or am I not using the feature properly?

You can find out your stats vs random with Sc2gears: pre-filter the replays by match-up. On the Filters tab of the Replay search, you can use the 'R' symbol to filer random races. Enter a match-up filter something like '*vR' and perform a multi-rep analysis on the result.

Practical use: Identify selective combinations of arranged teams for analysis; Be able to identify all replays where the player participates in 'random team' match-ups (where 'friends' are known).

Can you advise is this possible, or am I not using the feature properly?

You can enter multiple player names in the player search field which will be in logical AND connection: only replays containing all players will be listed. The "Not" check box before that does what it says: inverts the search results. So all replays where not all the listed players are contained will be listed. This means if you listed 3 names here and a replay contains only 2 of them, it will be included.

You can also add new instances of the fields, which will be in logical OR with the other fields of the same entity. With this you can list replays for example where 'Player A' played with 'Player B' OR 'Player C' played with 'Player D'.

Unfortunately this logic does not support to filter what you want, with this you cannot filter all replays where any of a player list is not included. But there are 2 solutions for this:

1) If the players are similar in names (for example computer player names are: "Player 1", "Player 2" ... they all start with "Player" => you can filter out replays with player "Player", and it will match all computer names - unless you check the "Exact match" check box at the end of the player search field.

2) You can do it in 2 or more steps. First filter replays where player #1 is not present, and press the "Set as source" button on the results tab. Now your search source is only replays where player #1 is not present. Now filter these reps where player #2 is not present. The result will be a list of replays where either player #1 and player #2 are not present... You can repeat this if you have more players you wish to filter out.

I've introduced a new, Free Sc2gears Database package which is available to All.

The Free package comes with 50 MB storage space which is enough for approximately 1,000 replays.

The Free package comes with all the benefits of the Sc2gears Database like you will be able to submit your Mouse Practice Game scores.

You can upgrade your package at any time of course. Please read the details on the Sc2gears Database page.

The APM Alert feature does not track your mouse clicks neither your keyboard input. The APM Alert reads the APM values outputted by StarCraft II to the Windows registry.
