im getting really pessimistic that blizz will come up with a really good version of the game until release
release is prolly only 2 or 3 beta patches away and those small number tweakings they are making right now do nothing to address the bigger issues in gameplay
i think the chance isnt too small that someone will come up with a superior version of sc2 via the map editor and this one will end up being the one played by most ppl
i mean who the fuck wants to mass rauders every game? especially in 2on2s its really ridiculous
fuck the marauder. fuck the roach. fuck the abundance of full damage to all other unit types. fuck this whole ball vs ball bullshit. im 100% sure the community could have done a way better job at balancing the game than blizzard

on that note, they really need to show ally's resources when he disconnects. It's impossible to control 2 bases when you dont know their resource and supply count.

So wrong man. Do you really think this is possible? A custom map perhaps, but i really doubt PG version with some tweaks will get much attention.

So, every race needs to change a bunch of hotkeys for a single Protoss function? And can't we say that Spawn Larva, all on its own, is already a little more important for the Zerg than Warpgate selection is for the Protoss?
Weird, weird change. Perhaps they had no other other key on the keyboard that was as close to empty as W, but I have trouble believing that. Oh well, we should be able to assign our own hotkeys after the release.

They also added a new help screen. Now in addition to being able to see the tech tree you can also click on every unit for a description and it gives you a weak, and strong section of what units its strong against and what it is weak against, aka hard counters. Really hate seeing that for some reason...

I will gladly take beta keys off of anyone convinced the game is a failure. Go ahead and PM me. I am guessing I will get approximately 20 beta keys in the next hour or so.
Of course, if it worked like that, orb would have given me his key a long time ago and wouldn't have to complain about protoss being so weak all the time.

disappointed "custom" promod versions of games are nothing more than niche games that elitists create to turn a uncompetitive game into a "competitive" one, but really just divide the communities and guarantee that any "pro" scene will be tiny.
If the normal game isn't good enough to be competitive Blizzard will have failed and no custom mod will save SC2.

My least favorite patch thus far...
I wanted to see nerfs to Marauder, Immortal, and Roach around the board... lowering the bonus dmg of the Marauder to probably +5 (from +10) and the Immortal to +20 (from +30). Blahhh. I'd rather see a faster moving roach while burrowed with significantly less HP (like 115, enough to take 2 thor shots).
Something I really want would be however to create a new type of armor, "structural armor," instead of giving buildings the unit "armored" class. This way bonus dmg from Immortals + Marauders and shit wouldn't apply to static defense and rape buildings. I think the addition of static defense would significantly move the game away from timing attacks (although they'd most likely still be very viable).

All this bashing on Blizzard's ability to balance needs to stop. Do any of you own a multi-million dollar corporation? Do you have degree's in the gaming industry? Small changes are bigger than you think, and this game isn't fully complete until the other two expansions come out. We can all speculate all we want, but looking at the big picture I am positive blizzard will create something awesome. When have they let us down in the past?
