Would love to see some more clutch units It's hard to be impressive at this game, it just doesn't have the clutch units that made scbw so interesting to watch. I'm quite disappointed because the replays are against very average players (or so it seems). ![]()

He's all macro and solid yet repetitive build order. It seems like to do well in the ladder (currently in beta), it's not just about what you excel at (especially creativity), it's mostly about whether you have a well practiced build order that could be slightly adjusted during the match. I am not saying you aren't rewarded for being innovative and creative, I'm saying right not solid build orders will win you the game, more often. Of course if the people start playing professionally and train 12 hours a day, they will all have a solid build order and great macro. At that point creativity or insane micro will be the absolute key winning factor.

I think he retired because his family had problems or something, and SangHo transitioned to 1v1s

it's all about power/drones -> spam roaches/hydra and if you can do that good and then even add in an infestor or two, or make mass mutas after, you are solid

The basic idea is to make a shitton of drones, get 1 gas fairly late and stay on only 1 gas for quite a while. Then once the economy kicks in just tech/upgrade/mass like crazy. As long as you survive the first big push or the tech (like banshees etc) you will pull out far ahead. This is how I like to play, except I do gas early vs terran because I like having early banelings. It's no different than BW really though - hold on til your t2 kicks in and your 2 base eco kicks in. The difference is I haven't had much experience with lategame transitions - usually I wreck T's midgame push and then win right there. I think that once terran builds become better optimized to fight this style of zerg play we'll see more lategame zvts. I didn't watch the reps yet but judging from the commentary I don't think it's worth my time. I might check them out later.
