Ladder rank doesn't really mean much, but his win percentage is respectable. One has to consider the fact that his opponents aren't exactly up to par - which is a problem with Ladder in general. I doubt Cool is practicing for these matches; he's probably just looking for the quick win via abusing the meta-game, which Zerg can do to great effectiveness. Until we see some of these players in big tournaments, it's impossible to gauge their actual skill level.

Nope, this style of zerg play has already found its way to the EU/US servers. The basic idea is to make a shitton of drones, get 1 gas fairly late and stay on only 1 gas for quite a while. Then once the economy kicks in just tech/upgrade/mass like crazy. As long as you survive the first big push or the tech (like banshees etc) you will pull out far ahead.

Youre probably right. Just seems counter intuitive that the top Asian player apparently is worse than good EU, US players.

@Grend

Why does it seem counter intuitive...? EU and NA are larger pools of players, thus, more good players will come out of it.

lol this guy is bad as fuck, 2 expos and over 2k mins at times?? honestly watch ZpuX play if you wanna see a zerg that keeps his money down while harassing all over the place... I dont believe hes the #1 on asian servers, cus hes a scrub plain and simple.

Actually, it is quite reasonable. What people don't seem to understand is that Korea was not always the top dog in SC 1. They got there later than the US and EU, but once they got there, they stayed.

Having said that, there's no telling how good Cool is without seeing him in a serious tourney. Anyone who follows Nony's stream knows that people don't demonstrate their skills in ladder matches.

I highly doubt that Asians (and especially Koreans) will make up as large a portion of the top SC2 players as they did in BW. Esports is growing rapidly in the West and people are working really hard on their SC2 skills.
If you have a good reason to disagree with the above, please tell me. Thank you.

Did people find his games vs LeeRaEun (better known as (Z)SiR@SoNi) and (Z)TheWinD disappointing also or had you given up watching after the earlier reps?

Here are the two other games from his PGR21 final match with TheWinD anyway since they weren't linked for some reason: http://www.mediafire.com/file/iwo0mom2igd/cool-vs-thewind_game2&3.zip

EDIT - In fairness to TheWinD, although he got taken out 3-0 in the final, he had to beat Lui, SenSaTion, hyo, isskincom and Zenio to get to there, which is a far tougher lineup than Cool faced.

haha i love how that's kind of insulting. but it's not really =] just made me chuckle. like "go see how ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE nony plays in his ladder matches for proof!!"

about the rep pack
The only game with a Protoss in it was really terrible. Like exactly the kind of game you wouldn't put in a rep pack to show someone's skill. The Protoss build was horrible. Yeah, the Z countered it with extreme ease but... it's a bad build so no big deal. I'm not gonna try to judge the other games.

I remember I played Nony on ladder and he didn't start playing until after over a minute had past. I was so confused I thought he was proxying or something and he just acted like he had no idea how to play and was just asking me shit lol.

Lol hey Nony I work at 1-5pm EST on saturdays which seems to be a game time for you because I watch your stream all the time and I can't lie you do play bad on ladder but hey as someone else said tournaments are what count!

It's hard to be impressive at this game, it just doesn't have the clutch units that made scbw so interesting to watch. I'm quite disappointed because the replays are against very average players (or so it seems).

I thought the following 2 reps would make for an interesting comparison since both were played on Sunday and both featured a superficially identical PvZ on Blistering Sands, the main difference is one was on the Euro server (HayprO vs LiquidNazgul in the Gosu Cup) and one on the Asian (TheWinD vs Anypro in the XPT6 seed tourney).

See what you think: http://www.mediafire.com/file/dndjzuieywy/PvZ-comparison_blisteringsands.zip

Wah thats so wrong. sc2 is so fast and enjoyable to watch man. I do already enjoy watching replays and observing more than actually playing the game itself.
I liked sc:bw, but i was actually never enjoying observing the game or watching replays at all. Might just be me but i totally dissagree there
