Think of it like this. You walk into class and your teacher says "A+B=C but B+B also = C. A=1 B=2 C=3" Now obviously you say "Wait teacher,that would mean B+B would be 2+2=3." You can't just say "Starcraft is NOTHING like genocide" without providing a valid argument for that. My argument is that it is like genocide, war, and terrorism for several reasons. 1. All 3 races have systematically murdered each other throughout the game's history in both the campaign and the multiplayer. 2. 100% of the game is focused on murdering agents of other cultures largely based on their race(species if you wish to call it by that.) 3. The protagonist of Wings of Liberty is a leader of a terrorist organization.
Nowhere do you indicate that this argument was "taken from the opponent's point of view." In fact, every time you've argued that StarCraft is a "genocide simulator," you NEVER once indicated that it was taken from some imaginary opponent's point of view. It's only AFTER I repeatedly questioned your claims that you "revealed" that your nonsensical comparisons of StarCraft and genocide were taken from some hypothetical, imaginary opponent's perspective.
By the way, the argumentative technique you're employing is known as a "strawman's argument." You might want to check out your local community college to understand why this is a logical fallacy.

saying that the contextual use of rape is equivalent to the contextual action of murder is neither unequivalent or superficial. It is using the same premise that the reference or simulation of a horrific act is inappropriate regardless of context.

You don't seem to be able to grasp what I was saying. Nor do you seem able to grasp what a strawman is. I did not arrive at the extrapolation by myself. The argument was presented many many times in this thread that saying rape is equivalent to referencing the act of rape. I never arrived at this by myself. It is impossible for what I said to be a strawman because of the above. Let me state it again. The argument that saying rape is equivalent to the act of rape has been used many times in this thread. I did not make up a strawman to attack. I used the premise of "referencing a horrific act is inappropriate regardless of context", the premise behind the argument "saying rape is equivalent to referencing the act of rape". I then applied the premise to another horrific act, genocide, to prove that the premise isn't true by virtue of the fact that we don't consider it inappropriate to commit genocide in the context of the game.

My point was not that they're hard or not to substitute, but instead I was asking why we should tolerate those words, and not others ? They may not be as offensive as the others mentioned, but who decides what's suitable and what's not is what I'm concerned about, and why...?
This argument can be extended to any event though, it's effectively the slippery slope argument and I don't think it's really applicable here. We as a collective decide and it's not like it's something ridiculously vague or hard to figure, as inControl did point out, there are some pretty clear-cut "lightning rod words". There are some points I consider somewhat valid in regards to this topic, but this isn't one of them, it's not that hard to draw the line...
As for Rabiator, your point of view is just utterly bizarre to me, yes you can't shield your kids from everything, but the only real solution to that would be making everything G-rated so that there's nothing your kid can go look at behind your back that you may not want them looking at. Just because you can't make sure your child isn't watching age-inappropriate content doesn't make it societies job to remove all age restrictive content so that everything is appropriate for them.
You've stated in other posts that, "Kids will seek out X-rated content even more", well what is your solution other than empowering the parents to police their children? Removing all age-restrictive content so that no one can access it?

Just watched Weapon of Choice with Destiny, much respect for Incontrol, Destinys argument was total shit. He argued with censoring because how else can he say "shut the fuck up".... There is several words that you can use for the N word. ] You say it to be offensive because of its past use, you don't use it for any other reason other to hit nerve with people.
Destiny is a product of the internet, his vocabulary shows that, and as everyone knows, the internet is a terrible place.
