I would like to make my voice heard that I really appreciate the comments of iNcontroL on the past Weapon of Choice. His ideas are always thought out, respectful and I am honored to have him represent the SC2 community.

As a minority (according to the djWHEAT's assumption of the community) in my thinking that the aforementioned oppressive language is unacceptable, I behoof community members who feel the same way to express their opinions in a constructive and respectful manner.

The quiet, respectful crowd is definitely not unique to Korea and Starcraft. The Japanese are essentially the same when it comes to Japanese pro wrestling. The crowd will sit and watch almost in silence aside from applause during introductions, the end of matches or after an exciting chain of moves. Compared to the melodramatic, over the top American crowd it's pretty crazy.

There just seems to be far more focus on the question of 'What is and how does one show respect?' in Eastern culture.

Some really great, engaging discussion this week. Probably the best episode of WoC. Was very interesting to see the other side of esports, especially delving into the mind of Sir Scoots (I want your job LOL). As a spectator, I always asked myself whether all of this is just a fantasy, our little world to participate in, be a spectator of and enjoy but I think the discussion tonight really confirmed its legitimacy to me.

Would be awesome if next week you could get some of the FXO players on to talk about their time in Korea.

To contribute to the discussion regarding MLG distribution, it seems like Hoens wasn't aware of the $400 MLG Stipend to the top 16 players by points, which results in MLG taking a 'slight' loss on the player-interaction side.

(Assuming the top 16 players, and 4 invited koreans don't actually need to pay the $70 entry free, and all passes are pre-sold):

256*$70=$17,920 (revenue)
16*$400=$6,400 (cost)
$14,000 prize pool per event (cost)
Result: MLG taking a loss of $2,480

I'm so grateful that you could have such an in-depth discussion on the business-side of an esports team, great show!

Kind of depressing to hear from sir scoots that you have to be be a fairly well known tournament player to get signed by a team to a decent deal. That narrows it down to maybe about 32-64 people on na server?
