INTRO:
+ Show Spoiler +
A few weeks ago I went to Kennigit for some help. While he thought it was just another request for some sexual favors... I was actually coming to him for advice. I explained to Kennigit, who's been a long time fan of many of my shows, that I really wanted to do a show for StarCraft 2, but I wanted it to be different from the content that's being offered.

Since BETA has been released, we've seen a fountain of new content, most of which are casters who pour their heart and soul into casting and ultimately showering the community with content. It was pretty obvious to me that another caster is the last thing we all need right now. So I took a step back, thought about it for a few days, and finally made a realization as to what I feel this community needs.

You see, I read TL Forums hourly. My days go faster reading about strats, downloading reps to watch later on, finding livestreams, etc. But I have one major problem at the end of the day... I don't have anyone to discuss this stuff with. I try guys. I mean I REALLY try. But no matter how much I try to talk to my wife about Infestor problems, ZvZ issues, or the high-ground debate; SHE'S JUST NOT HAVING IT.

And that is why I'm brining an old show, Weapon of Choice, back to life.

I wish to take the discussion out of the forums, and bring it to an interactive arena where anything is up for talk, discussion, rage, or debate. Whether it's calling via Skype, Telephone, or just submitting via the interwebs, my aim is to empower the community to help with awareness and education.

Now I won't try to sit here and convince you that I will be this GOSU KNOWLEDGEABLE PROXY PYLON OF SC INFORMATION, because I'm not... I'm more like the probe. But that's why I'm excited to announce that Chill will be joining me as a co-host to act as that GOSU KNOWLEDGEABLE PROXY PYLONG OF SC INFORMATION!

This Sunday, Chill and I will launch a PILOT episode of Weapon of Choice (WoC) at 2PM EDT which will air 2 hours before Live On Three (LO3). This episode will help work out the technical kinks as well as gauge a level of interest based on interaction.

The interaction will be a massive part of the show... I stand strong that no question is too stupid, no idea is wrong, and everyone is entitled to an opinion.

We hope you'll tune in Sunday at 2PM EST for the return of Weapon of Choice! Ways to tune in at the bottom of the post!

HISTORY OF WEAPON OF CHOICE:
+ Show Spoiler +
Weapon of Choice began back in 2004 when djWHEAT was heavily involved with WoW. During this time the show began to evolve from a "news" type show to a "discussion/interaction" type show. The show became a soap box for WoW players to discuss issues with the game as well as proper practice on how to play.

During this time another MMO came out called Guild Wars. djWHEAT got heavily into the game and even began playing it competitively under the guild VXIX against some of the top teams like Te, RIFTS, War Machine, Thundercats, etc. The Guild vs. Guild aspect became a major focus of the show, and Weapon of Choice quickly became the #1 source of discussion, news, and debate among the pro-GW scene.

During this time Weapon of Choice actually prompted the developers of Guild Wars to add UAX ("Unlock All" or what we referred to as a Tournament Mode). As top-tier players, the community was upset that we couldn't easily welcome or introduce people to the game because they were forced to play an unhealthy amount of PvE just to participate at a high level. It was a crowing achievement for this particular show because it showed that the community had a voice and could indeed influence changes.

Unfortunately, after several expansion packs, the PvP/GvG portion of the game began to die in popularity. At this point one of the WoC Co-Hosts continued the show until it was finally taken off the air... waiting for an appropriate time to resurface.

In 2010, 6 years after the show's humble beginning, djWHEAT is excited to bring this show to the Starcraft community to promotion interaction, debate, and discussion about something we're all passionate about... StarCraft.

ABOUT THE HOSTS:
+ Show Spoiler +
djWHEAT - ZERG - djWHEAT has been involved with eSports since 1996 when he competed in Quake 3 Professionally with Clan519. In 2000 he shifted his focus from playing to "broadcasting" and by 2002 he was traveling around the world covering major events like QuakeCon, and WCG. He's been a big supporter of Pro-Gaming ever since, and has introduced some of the industries most well known commentators through Radio iTG including Tasteless, TosspoT, and ReDeYe. Hosting 3 to 4 shows a week, djWHEAT continues to spread his love for the game through shows such as the eSports heavy Live On Three, and the home console based Epileptic Gaming.

CHILL - Random - A guy who needs no introduction on TeamLiquid, Chill plays several roles within the community. Whether he's livestreaming his games, banning nerds, or commentating alongside some of the best in the business, Chill remains active because of his healthy love for StarCraft. Hailing from Alberta, Canada, this StarCraft fan will play a key role in bringing a huge well of knowledge to Weapon of Choice and the fans of StarCraft 2.

Good news, I used to hear you as a commentator way back in the day but never really got to be a regular listener until you started into the SC community a little bit. It's good that you are going for a different angle for a show and brought Chill along.

Looking forward to it.

Chill's participation in the Korean betting scandal needs to be put into the public spotlight. He won $5 from me when we had a bet on how long the LAN tournament we were at would last. He made it to the finals and obviously threw the match to win my $5 to end the tournament early (never mind the $250 CJ jacket he could have won).

When you announced the co-host on Lo3, I was blown away. I'm a fan of Chill's commentary and I'm obviously a djWHEAT fan. I listened to Weapon of Choice when it was about WoW and sort of stopped when it was about Guild Wars (as I didn't play Guild Wars) so I'm super excited for it to be coming back

I know there are a lot of podcasts popping up but this one promises quality.

I suggest that you guys talk about 2v2 strategies such as the make hatchery in opponents main and spine crawler push him, or the epic 50+ barracks build that I saw Chill utilizing last night

The 50+ barracks, 30,000 minerals mined strategy is really underused.

I actually want to see the first topic explored to be the current TvP issues and builds. It seems to be the #1 discussion topic right now.

I can't wait for this. This is amazing there are shows and tournaments everywhere. I'm EU but i would love esports to explode in the US and keep growing worldwide! Things like this, people who do it for no money really help it all.

Absolutely. Additionally, we hope that the community/audience will also call-in about the issues they want discussed. The show works best when there are an assortment of opinions and angles to look at. Hope to see you there ^_^

Is it possible to have a ventrilo server so that people can be pulled in to talk on the cast via vent? Basically all the benefits of talking over the phone without any of the hassle.

You could rotate the password for vent every show and give them out to people via PM here before the cast so they can come in the vent to talk.

I think if you could make that work it'd be great!

Fantastic, will the show have the same format as the old WoC? Discussing with Chill and guests for the first half and then open skype/phone lines for the other half?
