There is no benefit to using it that would help you win multiplayer games, therefor there is absolutely thing wrong with it regardless of blizzards bullshit rules.

if you guys look @ old videos of Starcraft (alpha, basically)

they had similar color schemes.... they lowered the amount of color (made them duller) and took away some spots that originally had color

Hey OP, how long have you been using it? There was a wave of bans on Oct 1st, 2010. If you were using it before, and weren't banned, then this might actually be safe to use after all.

Hey, I've been using custom textures since beta. Looks like im in the clear so far.

By the way, people that say that its too dark, I actually didnt darken up ANYTHING really. The thread is named that because I originally did darken it up a lot.

The main thing this does is add more team color to zerg and probes. If you don't like the darker voidray and stalker just don't copy over those dds files and youll be fine. Personally I went back to the original voidray and stalker but kept the stalkers bright lights(the specular file). For probes and for Zerg though, imo, this is a must.

Pls someone WhO has installed and tried in dark maps. Is it possible to see the units or is it just too dark?

It works just fine and is not hard to see. And if there are any units you don't like you can always just not install textures for it. Personally I'm back and using the default as I like them better, but these custom ones do work.

i am huge fan of this pack, one problem i have tho is upgraded roaches (with burrow move) dont have new textures so when you get an upgrade they become much lighter and out of place :o

I made a video on editing team color strength to make that battle a little more clear, especially the stalker since that was sort of the focus of the thread. I didn't edit the projectiles, both because im not sure how lol, and also because I want to show how the team color on the units themselves is more at fault for confusion. However I do agree that colored projectiles might not be a bad idea at all, along with other things like colored ff's and scans for example.

If you watch it at 720 your not really gonna be too confused about whats on what team but its more when its at the 360 quality that its not as clear, or at least closer to how unclear it can be in certain situations like watching the gsl stream.

Making the zealot blades shine as much as possible might also help for them.

Like someone else said, couldn't you change the texture of cloaked units making them VERY visible? That could potentially give you an edge over your opponent.

I know nothing of these things so don't bash me too hard if I'm wrong.

As far as I know, this is not possible. You can change the texture of the dt as much as you like, but it will still be cloaked. You would only see the texture once you have detection. Without detection, all you would see is a blur.

Some of the changes are really looking neat, I liked the protoss dark-silver. However I'm probably not gonna mech with the mpq files untill I blizzard states its views on it.

Does anyone know where to find the texture that adds more team colors to all the protoss buildings ? I saw it on a stream recently and can't find the texture anywhere. I've asked the streamer and he said he found it on TL somewhere, but doesn't remember where. I searched and this Zerg template with the modified VR, Stalker, and Probe is all I can find.
