Its not like KESPA runs all the pc cafes or anything rofl. It's more like Blizzard trying to get Koreans more excited about SC2 so KESPA can do nothing but accept that its the future and if they want to be of importance in the future they need to listen to what Blizzard says.

The amount of games that will be played in a competitive context will skyrocket when the korean's start playing. Its like in SC1, we all complain something is imba, and then the progamers solve our problems with magical builds.

We spent what? 10+ years having "korean" be *the* thing and now they get first open beta which means more time to play with more serious gamers. IE: a potential edge. I don't want to see korea as *the* sc2 community just like it was *the* sc1 community. I want to see euro/us get some credit. Then the EU/US players better pick up the slack, eh?

Even if the goal is for more countries to play SC2 competitively, it's still extremely important that Korea accepts SC2. Korea is still the e-sports capital, and what they like/dislike will have an impact on how other countries accept it. This is obviously Blizzard's trump card against Kespa. Kespa may not listen to Blizzard, but they'll definitely listen to what their paying customers want.

They will dominate because they have players living in a house together, playing full time, with a dedicated coach and substantial sums of money at stake.

Sure, they'll have a leg up for the first couple of months but things will even out. The more important things, like actual practice time & innate skill will take over. Of course, the funny thing is that they'll still beat us based on that too. :-)

![]() And yes, a couple months with orders of magnitude more player base and general accepting into the Korean Culture, the game will evolve drastically in beta. Some national or "server" pride is good, but I think its pretty selfish to cry out that Korean's are given an edge now over other servers and say it's "not fair". Having more beta testers is good. Having a lot more beta testers is better. Having the e-sports capital's general public test the game is awesome.

How is giving Korea an open-beta an indication that Blizzard doesn't want foreigners competing?! It's an inevitability, and this is a very good move on Blizzards part, imo. I'd like for some Koreans to solve T mech and the generic MMM builds that happen every game.
