So yea basically I've been selected as one of the beta testers but my whole SC2 is in chinese be it unit description, program language and etc.
I've also tried downloading an english version of SC2 but it says different region when I try to login so the only possible way for me to login my account for SC2 is to do it on a chinese SC2.
Does anyone know if its possible for us to request blizzard to give us the language we desire?

Just download the client off of fileshack. You need a legit beta key to play though.

You can change the text/audio language in the options panel.

Traditional Chinese? What countries even use that anymore? Singapore and Taiwan? I guess they might have mixed it up since you are in Malaysia.
I played it in Korean and it only gave one language option for me too. Didn't look too far into it though, so I don't know if it's possible to change it by other means, but since they seem to have separated the servers for Europeans, North Americans and Asians it wouldn't surprise me if we were stuck without English for the beta.

Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau still uses traditional chinese, about 30 millions people 0.0. BTW both korean and traditional chinese version of sc2 are on the same server. Lots of people in taiwan forum complaint about pwned by korean

Contact Blizzard account support.

I figured it out! log onto your battle.net account, go to your sc2 beta page, then change the language options to whatever language you want, then the primary download for the beta will have it set to that language. Also there are other language options you can choose without having to change your overall battle.net languages. Once you install the beta, it won't let you change the language though.

As mentioned before, your only way in seems to be to torrent the english client. It will still work just fine with the legit beta key and will be in english.

Wait,
you mean they actually invested time to develop a dutch version?
Although I love my language, I don't like the way they translate things in games to the Dutch language, maybe English just makes it more 'gamelike'.

好像跟你地区有关系的。 亚洲服务器只有繁体字的选择。 it seems to be a regional issue. the asian server does not seem to have english capabilities.

I double checked, and it's really silly. There's no universal beta client with different language packs, but they're all independent clients(kind of stupid idea huh?)
Anyway, you just have to download the client from your battle.net account in the language of your choice and badabing, there you go.
Right now i'm on the EU server with the english client and it works just fine.
Of course i had to go through the hour long process of getting the client and all the patches over again. t.t

I thought Idra can play just fine on the US and Asia server with the same client? Just have to change the server list.
|
did anyone get this fixed? i have a similar problem where it is forcing me to download the korean client. i live in japan.

英文式星际争霸上怎么打汉字? How do you type characters on the English version starcraft?
[oh and sorry about the quality of my Chinese; I'm still learning. Though it was apparently good enough to make at least one Chinese person in a game I played think I was pulling his leg when I said I was an American student. I have a feeling that was a fluke.]
