Looking at this though I'll tell you somthing that worries me.. it looks like they're going to have hotkeys that you can make before the game starts judging by the look of the right side of the keyboard.. yet another tool to low the skill ceiling.. HOPefully thats just because they're copying WOW keyboard layout..... hopefully | ||

Oh, before anyone says "This could be for SC1", it has StarCraft II printed on it, and the color changing and terrain hiding keys are the ones from SC2 (Alt-r, Alt-t) not SC (Shift-Tab, Tab). That being said, I wouldn't see the point of this board, even if it did exist. | ||

Programmable macros would be next to useless in an RTS game even if Blizzard went ahead and allowed their use. We're not talking about an MMORPG where you can set your keyboard to /select nexttarget and then add a list of F-keys to use on it. RTS games require you to select and direct units with your mouse and programming a keyboard certainly won't help you there. The only think it would allow is for you to command buildings (assuming they're locked to control groups) and making them build something, but somehow I feel that with Starcraft II's MBS, it would just be easier and much more accurate to do by hand since you could actually control which unit each building is outputting and change it according to the gameflow, which cannot be done with a pre-programmed macro... And if you have to reprogram your macro repeatedly during a game, I can't help but feel that would somehow defeat the purpose of macros.. Macros don't work for RTS games and I'd imagine that those that try to use them quickly discover that they just become nothing more than glorified hotkeys. So again, I come to the question, why are we even discussing this? Since we can all probably agree that it's ridiculous and useless either way, that is... =/ | ||

Does anyone here REALLY think that this ridiculous excuse for a keyboard is going to help someone play Starcraft any better? If anything, you'd probably be slower because you have to spend time getting used to the keys on that ridiculous layout. It all seems like a great idea on paper, but in application, it all goes to hell... I'd say take that $50 and spend it on Red Bull or something..
