OMFG... It's not a shopped photo... It's a frikking ZBoard, how many times do you people have to be told? -_-;;
It's a legitimate product from a legitimate company and Blizzard has absolutely nothing to do with it... It's just another in a long god damned list of useless macro keyboards and superfluous gaming peripherals. People, PLEASE do a little research. >.<

How can you misspell one of the races? Srsly Blizzard...
...this keyboard is full of fail imo...

No starcraft player would make it. For one windows key is still on there. Also if they were starcraft players they wouldn't make this keyboard in the first place because part of the game is the difficulty, don't try to make equipment to make playing easier.

Out of sheer curiosity, why on earth is this thread even still open? It's about a 3rd party peripheral and has absolutely nothing to do with SC2...

it's not like the protoss even use the english alphabet, so I doubt it really matters.

Well, technically it's an SC2 third party peripheral.
More technically, the fact that this is a "macro" keyboard with Blizzard "support" suggests that Blizzard will support macros in SC2.
Still, the fact that they mispelled protoss doesn't exactly make me think that Blizzard cares about the company at all and thus might not care about supporting macros.

How would this be different from talking about a G15 programmable keyboard other than the fact that they just got a license from Blizzard to put a sticker that says STARCRAFT II on it?
Programmable macros would be next to useless in an RTS game even if Blizzard went ahead and allowed their use. We're not talking about an MMORPG where you can set your keyboard to /select nexttarget and then add a list of F-keys to use on it. RTS games require you to select and direct units with your mouse and programming a keyboard certainly won't help you there. The only think it would allow is for you to command buildings (assuming they're locked to control groups) and making them build something, but somehow I feel that with Starcraft II's MBS, it would just be easier and much more accurate to do by hand since you could actually control which unit each building is outputting and change it according to the gameflow, which cannot be done with a pre-programmed macro... And if you have to reprogram your macro repeatedly during a game, I can't help but feel that would somehow defeat the purpose of macros.. Macros don't work for RTS games and I'd imagine that those that try to use them quickly discover that they just become nothing more than glorified hotkeys.
So again, I come to the question, why are we even discussing this? Since we can all probably agree that it's ridiculous and useless either way, that is... =/

Even if the layout was perfect, it would still suck. You just can't understand how much a ZBoard sucks until you use one. When I tried one I could not believe that they weren't too embarrassed to let it leave the factory. It's as if they were made to be prizes at carnivals but not even the carnies would stoop that low.

Could you please elaborate? Is the keyboard unresponsive, oddly shaped, and/or poor ergonomically? Is it difficult to tell what you have it or where your hand is placed? Does it break easily? Something else entirely?

The keys feel different from each other when you press them. The keys feel loose in their positions. Because they're so cheaply manufactured, you have to firmly press each stroke to guarantee a response. Once you start typing fast or playing a game like Starcraft, you run in to problems frequently.
If you think about it, the concept of the Zboard is great. A multi-purpose keyboard with interchangeable keysets that have been customised for different games. How much would you expect to pay for such a fantastic peripheral? If you said $50 (the price of the Zboard), you're gonna get a cheap piece of shit. If such a peripheral was well-made, I'd expect to pay at least 3 times that.

My main problem with keyboard like this is the fact that there is a learning curve required to get yourself accustomed to using the keyboard naturally. I just feel that the time you would have to invest to getting used to these proprietary layouts would be better spent familiarizing yourself with a standard keyboard and in terms of performance, I doubt the end result from learning to use a special gaming keyboard would be any better than being familiar with your standard keyboard.
Does anyone here REALLY think that this ridiculous excuse for a keyboard is going to help someone play Starcraft any better? Or take another example:
http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/timberwolf_fps_keyboard/
How exactly would this keyboard improve a person's performance? If anything, you'd probably be slower because you have to spend time getting used to the keys on that ridiculous layout. It all seems like a great idea on paper, but in application, it all goes to hell...
I'd say take that $50 and spend it on Red Bull or something.. That'll probably increase your performance more than these ridiculous things... -_-
