Day9 kind of freaked out at the mass queen usage being successful and kind of stepped away from actually analyzing it. All of the players Catz faced could have dealt with the queens if they had the micro Catz had. Granted they were facing something they weren't used to and didn't know what to do, but there are plenty of things that can easily shut down mass queen play, which I'm sure even Catz saw in some of his games. Thats not to take away from the power of making a lot of queens, especially early. The part where he showed it holding off 4 gates among other things was very good, it showed how early on a lot of queens can start giving you a strong defense to drone up and also spread creep. It just didn't feel like he did as much as he could in analyzing it. He showed all the ups and none of the downs. He really didn't give players a strategy, he showed them games of something working and told them it was "imbalanced" (Which I hope was just him poking fun at the show again, even though I kind of enjoy the purpose of that show) It was a great funday monday, I enjoyed the fun games and its really interesting to see what queens can do, but I think he took this a bit to far in part 2. Queens are good, but mass queens as a spam transfuse to never die really isn't as viable as he made it seem. Just take it at face value, make more queens like he said, but don't go too crazy with it. I'm excited for the next funday monday, Contaminate is one of the things a lot of zerg players aren't using effectively. I hope that if (and when) a pro player submits replays of them using the strategy he doesn't go overboard. you misunderstood the purpose of funday monday. Yes it would have been nice if he did analysis, but thats not why funday monday exists.

At this stage, this strategy is rather raw and underused that I doubt Day9 could really analyze at a deep level. That's probably why he suggested more people to try it out, as well as opting to try it out more himself to better get a feel of it. It's pretty consistent with his general take on new strategies in simply just trying it out a bunch of times, gradually scaling and refining the build/transitions.

You have to either have three different structures corrupted at three different points in the game OR corrupt a structure 3 times in a row. His intention for the daily (and probably the requirement for choosing replays) is that he just wants players to use lots and lots of corruption throughout the game.

What is the new funday monday? Next weeks' is mass contaminate from overseers. At 3 points in the game, you must have 3 enemy buildings contaminated, or you must contaminate one building 3 times in a row (contaminate hitting right after the previous one expired). Those are just general guidelings, he really just wants to see shit tons of contaminates.

It's "contaminate", the spell of the overseer ^^ not corruption ! But yes, basically next funday monday is the overseers' day ! Have fun with that :p

It's actually Hans Gruber from Die Hard, though he (Alan Rickman) also plays Snape which is why he sounds the same. But the actual line and mannerism is Gruber.

Why not just stay on topic and repeat stuff twice maximum? The same content (which is actually good) could be taught in a 3rd of the time. how many words can one person possibly use to get his point across...

The best Tank "counter" in TvT has always been Tanks, just placed better and with more of them. But as a Day9 viewer you should have learned by now that the idea of a "counter" is a flawed way of thinking. Mass queens is a strat with lots of weakness, such as low mobility and reliance on creep. It's not about getting X unit to "counter" Y unit.

I disagree Whitewing. If you feedback the queens before the real battle begins and they begin to use transfuse then they will get one shot by the feedback and you should still have energy to storm i think (have to check). Ultra queen would be really bad against templar because you could feedback the queens and then morph archons which are pretty good against ultras. If he has broodlord queen then its more difficult, perhaps hts and void rays, but they are both gas intensive...... have to think about that more. The thing is, queens are cheap and fairly easy to produce compared to high templar, which are quite late coming out. Yes, you 'can' shut down the queens with them, but queen/spinecrawler defense to stay alive is extremely efficient because all of your larva turn into drones and you get a massive economy safely, and at that point, suiciding high templar to try to snipe queens is probably going to badly cut into your army, especially when the zerg could pump out basically any unit comp he wants (you won't have colossi if you go for the high templars until really late).
