I'll probably forget to check this thread regularly enough to find a response lol.

Could you express some of your thoughts on some pro Zergs switching to Terran? I'm currently a Zerg user in Plat but I'm looking to work my way to diamond, and I hope I won't get insanely frustrated.

he's shared his opinions in the past and I doubt they've changed. Don't buy into the imba talks and let it affect your game.
There may be imbalances but that shouldn't matter while you are playing. You have to look for ways to win as they are always going to be there. Don't concern yourself with all the imba talk until you start getting to the top 10 of a diamond league imo.

Hey I am new to the site but have been watching the Day 9 daily's for a while now, and they have really helped me up my game, have become a big fan. Still only a Gold League player but I am getting better.
I mostly play Toss and the videos you did on whiteRA's were great help. Although I am being called cheese for some reason, is an early void harras on terran considered Cheese? and 2 Gating the Zerg to pressure zerg and stop them expanding?
What is Cheese? apart from a delicious dairy product.
Also on the Request side could you cast some high level 2v2 play? I am finding it hard to translate 1v1 my 1v1 playstyle to 2v2 games.

"Cheese generally refers to an all-in strategy that relies on surprise to win a game early without serious resistance. A successfully executed cheese attack will catch the enemy early in their opening, while sacrificing early game macro." - Liquipedia

But the "all-in strategy" is kind of un true isn't it? because if I can apply pressure to zerg, e.g. I see the zerg expanding and I try stopping them from expanding and allowing me to expand at the same time. It is just stopping them from doing what they want to do, while allowing me to do whatever I want to do, right? (if that makes sense?) and shouldn't you always be catching your opponent by surprise, limiting the resistance they have?
Or have I missed the point completely?
And is this the right place to be having the discussion? or Should I be taking it elsewhere?

While there is plenty of debate on the precise definition of cheese, on of it's key identifying components is the lack of a future plan. So if as T your goal is to harass to stop a zerg's expo to get your own up, then it is not cheese. But if you decide that your reaper opening was doing well so now you will put down 4rax and go reaper only with all the money you have, until zerg dies, then it would be cheese.

Yo Day[9], I'm watching your daily's religiously by now, and starting to go back and watch them all. I noticed that you never posted part 2 of D9D 0051... July vs firebathero @ Sin Chupung-Ryeong. Is there any way you can post that someplace? Thanks.
Have fun in Deutschland!

I got gold league in 3 days (around 20 or so games) because of day9!
I am not completely foreign of RTS's, but I've never "really played" them (I played the campaign in SC1 and some age of empires, but never really against real people). I also played around with a friends beta build-order tester a while before the game came out--so I had SOME idea of the controls, etc.
All I did was focus on macro, just like Day9 said. I didn't even tech well (which is supposed to be part of macro). I just built three or four gateways, expanded, built more gateways (I got cybernetics core second of course and got a twilight council somewhere with leg speed upgrade), but thats pretty much it, other than a robotics bay with some observers (and nothing else). I just pushed zealot, stalker, and expansions (always at least 3 expansions) hard--trying to always make probes--and not get supply blocked--and chrono boost--and get upgrades, etc. But my unit composition was zealot-stalker-sentry(when my minerals are low). My micro ONLY consists of: scouting for enemy expansions by shift clicking a probe everywhere, having all my units as control group 2 and retreating if I thought it was a bad fight, or patrolling my units somewhere where I wanted them to attack. As my macro got better, I did a little more micro, like focus firing a Terran's medivacs when the battle was almost over, or doing a little bit of positioning, etc. Sometimes my opponent microed ALOT and I has to retreat ALOT until I got a bigger army and could attack. I also press "G" whenever I am going to attack (for guardian shield). BUT THAT IS ABOUT IT.
Moral of the story: listen to this amazing man--focus on macro and do only enough micro to: scout, retreat, attack. Its ok if you macro falls behind a little while you are doing these things, as they shouldn't take very long (and you will get better). If I think I can win a fight, I tell my units to Patrol over there and then I don't think about them very much anymore. Sometimes I check in and see if maybe I should retreat now--but the most important thing is to be MAKING UNITS WHILE FIGHTING. Even if you loose the fight, more than likely you are going to destroy alot of his army, and if your macro is good you will have enough reinforcements to win round 2.
Oh, one other thing that I do as a new player is add on a couple extra gateways from what the "pro's" do when my money is getting high. I am not perfectly smooth at keeping my warp gates active, so these extra gateways give me the ability to keep my money low even though I am still terrible.
Also, if you are loosing to early aggression (like I was, because of my lack of micro) do a wall off for all three races with a little opening where you keep a zealot with stalker backup. This is almost always the best way to survive early game aggression (remember, you are pushing your economy hard--alot of players spend the money that could have gone towards workers on army units. You need to defend against this if you want to survive). I normally do it on my second gateway.
This advice can really apply for any race in my opinion: ESPECIALLY zerg. Zerg is all about macro. Expand expand expand and then roll over them with the swarm. All the zerg I've played so far have almost killed me with one base--Imagine how many units they could have produced with two bases! Or three! Or four! I am no expert on zerg, but when I play I will probably go ling, roach, hydra (choose to build roach or hydra depending on what my opponent is doing) and just try to spread creep with an extra queen as much as possible while continuing to macro and prevent them from expanding. Terran I will probably go MMM with alot of marine harass (I forgot to mention that I am experimenting with harassment with blink or warp prisms when I have my enemy bottled up and my unit count is getting high).
Long post, but hopefully someone finds it useful.

He is not going to. He's been avoiding the issue by both not talking about it and also by showing games without terran or games where terran have been thrown off tilt by surprise strats. What does he have to gain by talking about imbalance? Nothing. What does he have to lose? Well, a lot.
