Just watched the 100th episode and wow talk about fucking flashbacks! From spamming to get into x17 or making battlereports for ~nohunters It seemed like starcraft was so much more fun back then, and it seemed like the evolution of the game at that point in time was exploding.
My first experience with going on battle.net was asking my dad if I could log on and play online. He told me no because it probably cost money, despite my best efforts of pointing to the box's 'free online' he wouldn't budge.
So late one night I went down to the computer and logged on and played a game. Then all of a sudden the game paused and the guy somehow made this weird text in game. 'hack.bomb initiating' then he kept on telling me he was hacking my computer, despite my begging him to stop and explaining my situation he just kept 'lol'ing in chat.
I insta pressed the shutdown button to the computer and went back up to my bed. I didn't really sleep that night expecting some sort of huge virus on the computer and the ensuing stick/belt I would get for fucking the computer up.
Those were the good days :')

The quality of the stream is phenomenal but as i watched it live in 5 o'clock in the morning it sometimes lagged for a sec or so in 10-15 min intervals. The lag was with no sound and frozen picture. Maybe its the issue you addressed in the show. All and all great quality and auwsome show as aways. Thank you Day and good luck in the upcoming tournament.

Oh man again in the wrong thread.
|
was a great stream day9 i didnt have any lag issues and it looked great 2 cant wait for the next cast
also super happy you are bring the times down to 7 i live in newfoundland so its still really late here but i can now watch it(its -3:30 for the timezone here)
|
I watched from beginning to end with 0 lag issues last night, great cast Day!
|
I do believe the UStream feed quality is definitely a notch better than Livestream(Although that may be due to the new Webcam). No ad popups as well, and #110 didn't have any issues with lag or whatnot. Definitely do another daily or two on Ustream so far it passes the test :D
|
I watched the replay on UStream and obviously there was no lag there, the resolution was really good though! Not sure there is much discernible difference between low and medium graphics after it's all said and done for the streamers. Otherwise, I really enjoy listening to you and it's a great way to unwind after the day.

My one problem with uStream is when watching the VoD's, you can't increase the size of the video. It's either full screen or the small little box . Motivation to watch the streams live then (you can pop out the live stream).
EDIT : Also the uStream watermark blocks the food count >.<;
|
I love the ustream transition, apart from the unit counter, you might wanna play with the "Resource Tab" open for most of the time, until you wanna show something else ofc.
Also, there is a "Slow mode" for the chat, so you can use that if you want for anti-spam to see your questions. (people can only type 1 line a minute)
|
The quality is much higher now, but my one complaint is that the ustream icon in the top right blocks the food counter. kind of annoying
|
Hmm yeah, puting the army tab during replay might help though (to see food count).

Hey Sean, I just finished watching Day 9 daily 110 on the Ustream VOD. The resolution seems just a nudge lower however it ran from start to finish 100% smooth and ... well just overall smoked the livestream experience with the VODs.
Keep doing what you are doing! Hope someone can actually pay you for doing as such

I watched the Ustream last night (4am for me xD) and it was great quality, but I had some issues with the picture freezing from time to time. But the sound continued, so the stream didn't cut off, and I didn't need to load again. Just the picture froze.
Other then that, it was great! I love to watch you talking about SC2 = ) Keep it coming!

As much as I enjoy the Daily vids, should you not be practicing to destroy Artosis? haha! :D

But, could you please do a "Getting started"-episode I can point them to, that would be awesome. I guess there are alot of starcraft newbies wanting vod help nowadays.
really nice with vods for us in europe again!
This is a really good idea. The last time i played starcraft before yesterday (when i got my SC2 beta key) was 10 years ago. I got tipped off to your casts and started loving it. But not all of my friends wants to watch all of your D9Ds so a single cast where you make some kind of introduction would be great.
Also, being european I cant watch live but the VoD seems better now, I seem to have less issues than with livestream.

I second this! I'd love to get more of my gaming friends into SC2 and this would probably help alot! I even have some peeps having keys but are too afraid to get started!
+1 to you, good Sirs!

Hey day9! Hope you get time to read this.
Latley your show has been up on three different sites. Livestream, usstream and blip.tv. I can't wait too watch 108 and 109 because its the fucking pheonix in em, loove it. But I can't seem to find them anywhere ..
Are they even uploaded? Which site are you gonna stick too? Love your show, keep it up!

For those concerned about not being able to resize the stream beyond small or full screen, hit the "pop out" text right above the video window.
Sean, I love Ustream and it's way preferable to livestream I think, but I do have a couple questions. 1: Since the watermark covers the top right cover, is it possible for you to have the "Resources" tab open on the top left unless you specifically want to use that tab to show something else? That way, we'll conveniently be able to see the food count, not just for the targeted player, but both at the same time. 2: Ustream likes to split the chat between multiple channels when a significant amount of people are watching the stream. I believe the max number of people in a channel (this includes registered users and guests) is 2500, but I'm not 100% sure about it. Is there any way for you to try to read questions off the extra channels that spawn, or will you only easily be able to see the first channel?
