UPDATE:
It seems like the Group chat is still broken, Every time you enter a replay or a game, the chat will clear. So if anyone who wants to chat, etc. could join the chat channel Group Coaching Corner, that's where I'll be at.

Since I posted my information in the TL HotS free coaching thread, I've had a small amount of folks contact me about coaching. As usual I was more than happy to oblige, but quickly ran into a problem.
With a smaller population in the beta currently, it was near impossible to find practice partners for my 'students' to play against and have good consistent similarly skilled practice partners other than pitting them against one another. Since the majority are gold and below Zergs, this meant a lot of ZvZ which may or may not have been the matchup they wanted help with. This led me here.
I plan to create a Group within HotS (Name isn't set yet) that will be for platinum and below folks looking to improve, or people just looking to observe games. I will be willing to observe any practice game between people in the group whenever I'm online and give pointers or suggestions. My main race is Zerg, but I've been trying to play random in HotS because change is the spice of life.... But really I just was tired of my same old builds and like new shiny things.
I know there is a practice partner thread here, but its far from active, and I very rarely see any of the folks that posted there online when I'm online.
I'm certain this has been done before, but I actually intend to keep the group as active as possible. The hope here is that people can practice against one another in a friendly environment, rather than trying new things on the unpredictable ladder. I've found practicing with people and talking about the game in a reasonable format is much more enjoyable than the ladder.
Looking for any feedback or interest and I will follow up later with a group name that you can find.
Edit 1: Looks like we have a decent amount of interest, I'll be making the group when I get home tonight. Any suggestions for a name would be great. Also Additional coaches are always welcome, No way I'm going to be able to keep up with everyone. Anyone have an idea how we can label coach vs students? Do we need to?
Edit 2: I've created the group: Group Coaching Corner (yep its a terrible name). So feel free to join whenever I'll be in the chat there every time i'm online.
Edit 3: It apparently isn't as straight forward to join this group once you've found it. You have to click the little cog in the top right of the chat window, and click Join Group. This group is open to the public so anyone can join. Just a helpful tip so you can actually join the group instead of hang in the chatroom. this way people can add you as friends if you aren't online, etc.

This is a good idea. I posted on the other thread aswell, as a coach. Why not using the group feature to allow several coachs to meet several "students" ?
I am a terran player (intending to play random) so that could help.
Plus, I need friends on the Beta... feel so lonely right now x)

Love the idea. Been looking from time to time whether there are people in the practice groups in HoTS, but in general it is always empty. Would be great to have some kind of coaching/training group.

I'm gold league, so I'd be a good matchup for your students.
That being said, I play Zerg. I'm seriously considering changing to Protoss, though, simply because I can play it unranked for a while until I'm more comfortable.

I think its a good idea as well as long as we can get a decent base. I am only a bronze player (First RTS) so I have been learning a lot from other people. If its easily accessible I think we can get more quality players, and more people that wont use cheese builds or they can practice specific builds.

I just joined the group. I barely got beta access today and somehow got destroyed in the practice matches and ended up in bronze. I am gold in wol and would be glad to both coach after I get a little more experience and would really appreciate getting a couple friends in the game. I am protoss btw.

Joined. Was platinum and gold for most of Wings of Liberty. Could use some coaching for the diamond+ lads. Seems a bit empty at the moment though.

It might be helpful if you post what times of the day (including time zone) you are most active. To start us off I'm mostly on
Monday-Friday 5 PM - 9 PM CST
Saturday-Sunday at random times.

Just joined the group, but it doesn't show me (nor any of the others) in the group besides you (you're the only visible member).
I am mostly online during weekdays in the evening 7PM-9PM BRST (Brazilian Summer Time, currently GMT-2) and weekends at random times.
Just started with TheCore (new hotkey lay-out, http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=341878) a few days ago in combination with TheStairCase (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=374400), so I am currently like a baby trying to type words on a chinese keyboard when playing SC2 ;-)
I hope to have somehow mastered the new keys in 1-2 weeks, so should be ready to start practice by then.I am Protoss Silver when I started to play ladder again recently, and more or less Silver-unranked in HoTS (lately only been playing HoTS, a lot of fun playing with the new units ;-))
Keep up the great initiative, I already saw there were 3 people (including me) in the chat when I joined, which is a lot more than I have seen over the last weeks in any of the HoTS groups ;-)

When I am starting to ladder again (when my fingers are able to find the correct keys again), I will also forward people who want to train/coach to join the group..

Another follow up. It looks like there is some bug with group chat in HotS. They just took things down for maintenance (and additional features!!!!) so we'll see if that clears things up. if not i'll create a chat channel of the same name for us to hang out in.

I was Diamond the last season I played WoL. I got my Beta key almost immediately so I have been playing HotS ever since. I'm currently high platinum.
Looking forward to joining this group to train and coach when the servers are back up with our freaking fantastic new features!
