as a terran i hate this patch, to many protoss /zerg players on EU/NA that blizzard is listening to, When korea is the only realm that actually has 33% terran representation, you can see how anything terran players say will be overshadowed by the bias zerg /protoss players have to say. If these changes stay the same, i expect fully to see extremely uneven racial distribution to a further extent in the expansion.

Like, barring the fact that mech is doable in WoL already at the pro level in 2 matchups, and becoming more so everyday, you don't think a significant buff vs air openings, and that hellions will hold against zealots a lot better, and tanks get a tiny little damage boost, even marginally increases the chances that mech will be used vs toss? Like, not at all? Nothing?

And this is keeping in mind, at lower levels it really doesn't fucking matter what composition you go when you're bad at the game. If Destiny can get into platinum with mass queens (before hydraqueens even!), I'm sure 90% of Terran players can find away to make a composition as terrible, useless, disgustingly horrible as Tank, Hellion, Mine, Thor, Viking work, and have fun with it.

Its what I'll be doing. And fuck it. I won't even be making the viking

Lol, well, Toss has to play gateway units in every matchup! We don't even have the choice of a completly different techroute like terran. Furthermore, with battle hellions, mech is fine.
Do you really want every matchup change into: Who can mass the most warhounds the fastest?

Terran was the most complete race, they needed a tanking unit, they got it.
About widow mines, I think they should just let them burrow once, but as soon as they are, reduce the supply cost to zero.

i have to say the reaper change doesnt make much sense tho... how about enabling their speed upgrade without a factory again? with the queen range buff they shouldnt be OP anyways...

dont get me wrong i like the idea of "battle awareness" i just dont see how it makes any sense on reapers.

give it to widow mines so they can spot for tanks hehe

i still think that the reaper should land mines, is the best thing for a raid units, like the reaper
not the same anti-building mines that were removed, but more toward the vulture concept

As someone that is playing the beta, no I don't really think mech is viable against Protoss. Granted, I think the warhound in its current version was a 1A microless unit that should have been removed, but there is something that needs to fill that gap. Especially, with all the new units that Protoss and Zerg have. Blinding cloud is starting to become increasingly problematic. Mech has always been an issue against Protoss, but now Protoss and Zerg have more tools and strategies while Terran really doesn't.

Most of the openings for Terran are exactly the same as WoL, because most don't want to sacrifice the very limited amount of units for a high supply widow mine. You can't get Battle Hellions out until the mid game because now you need an upgrade and an armory. The only thing worth anything in the early game is the reaper.

When you do get into the mid game, the tank, battle hellion, thor, widow mines composition doesn't really work very well.

The tank face the same challenges it faces right now in WoL. It’s just not very viable and very easy to counter as well as lacking mobility, which is just a hard fact that won’t change with the tank. The widow mines being 2 supply is costly (and take away greatly from your main army) and they really add nothing to your unit composition, because they take too much time to bury and most of the time get wiped out with a few swipes of the colossus before you can even bury them. Even if you bury them early and play a positional game with your opponent hopefully luring them into the widow mines, most Protoss deathballs consist of one or two observers and again get wiped out relatively quickly because of the long range AoE coming from the colossus.

Battlehellions absolutely help tank damage, but between the shortcomings of the tank and the widow mine, battlehellions don’t last very long against zealot, stalkers, archon, HTs and colossus. I’ve tried it several times and that’s pretty much how it goes. Adding the Thor helps a little, but because of the supply cost of the widow mine it limits you a little from adding too many and the Thor still gets eaten up a lot like it does in WoL. So all in all, I feel like Mech against Protoss is in the exact same place it is in WoL. Just my two cents. That said this is a beta, where experiments are going to happen and they should happen, because you want to find that nice balance.

carrier needs to have its build time reduced, and make it less upgrade dependent by tuning the damage from 5*2 to 10*1, perhaps even 11*1 or 12*1. Either way it needs a buff so people will actually start using them, otherwise it's still gonna be the WoL lack of carriers except in all-ins and PvZ late game.

According this video (12 seconds in), the Carrier had a stealth buff in that it can attack while moving, similar to how it was in Brood War. I think what it means is that you can deploy interceptors to attack while moving without requiring Interceptors to go back to the Carrier.

So happy to see that the warhound is gone! Terrible looking unit, imho. I really feel like they could do something much cooler, like combine two hellions, a viking, and a siege tank into one awesome unit. VOLTRON STYLE!

About that speed: So you want ranged speedlings in your base, with no chance to stop that at tier 1? Do you really think a queen can offer enough protection to a mineral line? I don't think so.

One main weakness of the reaper right now is: The defender on the cliff can see him, but he has no idea what awaits him. Now, reaper useage won't be that luck dependand, but instead you have more control were to attack.

Maybe it doesn't make any sense, but it is buff to Reapers, unit that is pretty much underused, even with the buffs from HOTS. Also, speed at tier 1 together with their healing means that no tier 1 unit can touch them. Massing Reapers would be the same like in WoL beta. I mean, usually you go for Roaches/Stalkers/Marauders to counter Reapers, but what you could do when they are faster than all of these units with their speed upgrade AND have the regeneration, meaning you won't be killing them like you did in WoL with those units. They would be absolutely broken on pro level.

As Terran I really LOVE this patch... Screw Warhound, this was a boring shit unit anyway (and as they stated they probably try to redesign it so it may not be done for good, although I wouldn't mind )...
Also love the partial revamp of the Oracle with the Phase Shield, as this will be so cool to actually use and thus requires the Protoss players to invest some APM in micro, perfect for me
I'm totally fine with the Battle Hellion upgrade, since you get an armory after the first factory in TvZ most of the times (when going mech).
2 supply for the widow mine might be too high, but it's not the end of the day, right?
The reaper vision could be problematic, but it's also a cool idea, so I would give it a try (since the building bomb is removed reapers aren't that viable anymore IMO, so they needed to add something beside Combat Drugs).

What they could add would be a nice Viking upgrade also from the armory or even Fusion Core, so they can be upgraded into Valkyrie-like units with AA-Splash

Overall this might be the best patch we've seen in quite a while

I doubt if anything has actually changed. Carriers have always been able to move while attacking a single target, but they can't acquire new targets while moving (and you need to move back within 8 range to acquire a new target). Someone who has the beta definitely needs to test this out.
