Play a pvt vs insane AI and just probe harass him to death. That's all it takes, along with maybe a voiray or whatever

I 15 hatch everytime against the AI, I use 3 spine crawlers (hey I'm BW player ok?), and mass speedlings on creep. Then tech to hydralisks. As mass hydralisk is decent considering they don't get a LOT of helions or tanks.

Like the campaign, the difficulty difference between the highest two levels is just too much for me.

Insane can be beaten easily with early cheese, like 6-8 pool, 8-10rax reapers, cannons or proxy gates.
But I have not yet been able to beat it in a straight up fight.

It's useless to fight against insane IA because the IA is cheating that just destroy normal timing and provide a wrong trainning.

Ive beaten the comp the only time ive tried straight up by mass lings vs another zerg. its a good micro exercise, cause if they get afew roaches then you are in trouble. But if you keep pulling and killing 1-2 roaches at a time, eventually you can run them over.

its hard tho. but im sure its not too bad. When it gets like 2-3 comps vs 1, thats when its really hard, since they mass up so quick

I find void rays ezpz vs Insane Zerg, especially if it's close air positions. 1 gate stargate, cannon up with a sentry.

If I don't cheese I find Insane AI terrible hard to defeat. On small maps I have no chance most of the games :/

If I Lose a game I usually watch the rep. That said ...I noticed the AI has a production discount. I think 4 weeks ago this bonus was they could produce a rax for 50 instead of 150. In ZvT if u can buy enough time to get burrowed roaches works decent if you don't want to outright cheese them.

A couple tips to people struggling:

1. It's not that easy to beat the AI at a macro game when he has way more resources than you do and his stuff is cheaper. You need to beat him in the micro game, or employ tricky tactics.

2. For whatever reason (perhaps it's unnecessary) the AI doesn't generally fully saturate his minerals. If you pump workers hard enough, you can begin to close the resource gap.

3. Use your defenders advantage. The one thing the AI always does is attack you. Exploit the fact that a real human that saw your 15 cannons + sentries/ 5 queens with transfuse + 10 spine crawlers/5 siege tanks + 5 bunkers would back off and find a better way. The AI will not.

4. Harass. The AI may have an army larger than yours, but it tends to clump it into a single ball. Attacking multiple points at once and retreating as necessary, repeat, will ensure your victory.

5. Their compositions tend to be a little of everything. Pick a nice solid build that can adequately deal with everything. Don't expect them to just pick one tech. In general, AE units are pretty crucial, as they will usually outnumber you.

build 1 supply depot
build 1 scv
build 2 marines.
attack with 2 marines + 2 scv autorepair rush and pump marines.

You overwhelm pretty much anything...
I thought Jesus would come back before Starcraft 2.
