Do people not even read the OP? He say WITHOUT CHEESING them. Anyone can win 1v1,1v2 or even 1v3 insane AI with cheesing. I also find that the Insane Terran AI is much better compared to the other 2. He even went fast battlecruisers on me

I find Protoss is the hardest (even though I always win against Insane, but Protoss takes longest), especially if they use warp prisms a lot (which insane always seems to do), and hides a bunch of islands, without taking their natural. Massing immortals is also pretty hard to go standard marauders or tanks.

I haven't beat an insane computer zvp without cheesing yet. Someone enlighten me on how to do it.

protoss 4 gate all in works vs insane toss - zerg just makes too many roaches and marauder with concussive shell makes it difficult.

Computers get 7 minerals per trip - very hard to win early game...

I lold.
Anyway, I think it doesn't really matter if you can beat insane because like, don't they play with higher income than us? We're playing to their advantage. I'm plat too, but I can't beat insane, haven't really tried tho

I guess it depends what your "cheesing" threshold is, but if you play on the island map and just cannon up as protoss, you can always beat the insane AI because they will eventually psi-lock themselves with only ground units.

Probably hardest vs zerg who has infinite transports.

If you cheese/abuse the AI to win, your kinda missing the point

I played against insane AI ZvP on SoW trying to get the 'It's Morphing Time' achievement (the one where you have to morph a lair in the first 285 seconds of the game).

After getting the achievement I decided to try and win by going fast muta. It worked! the toss AI went for a zealot + immortal attack, but my lings + spine crawlers barely held them off until my mutas popped, from there I won.

So basically it was super-fast 1 base muta, I didn't even make a queen until after I had lair.

It is kind of a cheese build but not as bad as 6pool IMO.

I think you're the one missing the point, most people only abuse the AI to get achievements as quickly as possible.

It's interesting to note that the AI has a definite but delayed tech to counter your own tech changes. I discovered this while trying to mass battlecruisers (I suppose this would fall under the "cheesing" category then...)

First game with mass BCs, insane AI countered hard with mass corrupters. Second game, I still went mass BCs, but used some ground units sparingly at first. This time, AI built up mutalisk and other ground forces, and only managed to switch to mass corrupters after some elapsed time.

Maybe "faking" a certain tech path, but then switching to its hard counter can be helpful? All this, of course, assume you have survived the ridiculous T1/1.5 push that the AI makes early on.

1v1 is decently challenging without cheese.

If you are doing the 1v2 Achievement straight up though, it's probably impossible if both AI's are Terran. Even if you are Terran yourself you will eventually run out of resources due to turtling while they take the whole map and your tanks will slowly die.

Even with the other matchups straight up, the 1v2 Insane is probably impossible unless you are Terran yourself against non-Terran AI's.

umm no. It's definitely possible to beat 1v2 insane AI... I did it legitly without rush, and without being terran. And I'm sure a lot of others can do it on here too. lol its starcraft, not rocket science.

I think its decently challenging if you dont abuse the AI. Although there are grey areas (ie it goes similar/same style every time, so taking advantage of that knowledge could be cheesy?). Once you figure it out though, its straightforward. But you can always put handicaps on yourself to make it more challenging. Not necessarily good habits to form, but ok for practicing certain things like macro or general multitasking etc.

I'd love to see you post a replay of this. Also, have you tried this after the newest patch?

So I got home from work and decided to do it again. I did it the first time in a previous patch a while ago. Choose a map that's fitting and just get er done really. Tell me if this doesnt work, I never upload stuff.

http://www.filefactory.com/file/b2ha516/n/1v2_insane_AI_for_TL.SC2Replay

Edit: its vs 1p and 1z just for variation. My last time there was at least 1 terran in it I remember, and I did it another way, but no cheese and no rush. I think I could of taken 1v3 as well, and if they harassed, well that just would of taken a bit longer with defenses, that's all.

I stand corrected on the 1st part. Although getting 4 bases the instant you wall off does make it pretty easy.

I'd love to see a replay of Zerg vs. 2 Insane Terrans on Lost Temple/Meta if anyone has it.

Just beat 2 terran insane AIs using somewhat same strategy, just more polished and needed voidrays before carriers or else terran would roll me a bit too early. Haven't tried as zerg, I think that would be super tough, and applaud anyone who could do it.
