i had no problems with final toss missions either, just spam collossus until you get carrier, waste the remaining minerals on cannons... pretty easy

The archons even conveniently get trapped behind a pylon. Maw of the Void gave me serious serious problems because I decided to repair my battlecruisers and not use science vessels until it was too late and I had burned a ton of gas. Is this mission even beatable without science vessels on brutal? I don't think it is... (I'm going to try this at some point- because I hate myself). But I think All-in is the hardest, then in Utter Darkness. Maw of the Void is really quite easy, although I had science vessles I just spammed upgraded bc - didn't need any other ships -and a moved the map and repaired after each thing went down. While excess minerals going to make mass marines in my main base just incase some protoss forces managed to slip past my bc wall.

Really, it's so weird how people feel so differently about the missions. I thought Fall of haven was super hard if you went to it directly, but utter darkness and Supernova were piece of cake to beat in 1 try. Supernova was basically just go at the bottom, spam MM + banshees and watch out for high templars storming you to death in 2 seconds... Utter darkness = Colossi spam and afk win. ![]()

I found the last mission to be the hardest (while fighting air). I didn't have enough credits for the turret barrage which I wish I had.

You get some heroes like phoenixes, void rays and carriers for any air, but there really aren't many broodlords appearing on this mission so it's no big problem. Mutas kinda die to cannons, lol. Like 97% or somethin is just pure ground and colossi demolishes absolutely everything there ranging from zerglings all the way to hybrids. Everything dies instantly to them. So yeah, you can semi-afk this mission as long as you keep producing colossus and you'll get all achievements and research on brutal.

All-in is easily the hardest when you know the trick to it.

I've already beaten that mission, but I had to play ahead a couple of other missions and get banshees to beat it. It was super easy then, but with just vikings in air it felt too hard and I failed. :/

Its when you let the infections happen that you end up dealing with a stupidly hard amount of pressure, and thats what I was doing at first.

If you do that, you barely need any base defense at all, and you can just mass up a bio ball until you feel safe attacking the actual bases. I guess I stayed in my base a little too long then. ![]() Anyway, I just finished engine of destruction or w/e it's called with the Odin. A lot of people say this one was hard too, but I really don't see it.. I just rally all my buildings on the Odin and make sure I have scvs on him. Spammed some wraith/banshees and it was a complete piece of cake in first try no obstacles to get past or anything. I mean, I didn't even touch any of my units, they were all basically following Odin and I could keep my screen back in the base the whole game, lol.

Can't really say I had any problems with Engine of Destruction at all, which seems to be a difficult one for a lot of peeps. Supernova and All-in could be fairly cheesed.

All in is the worst mission ever created. maybe if I weren't on brutal it wouldn't be bad but dang.

I actually did every mission on Brutal before doing them on hard for achievements (if I didn't get the achievements on Brutal). I don't know why. Utter Darkness and All In were both very difficult for me. Darkness was hard for me because I tried doing it with warpgate units, and only had a few colossi. It was actually the first mission I came here for advice for. All In was really difficult, too, so I watched a video and mimicked the build, it was still very satisfying to beat since it took 4 attempts (1st with the method I used got it to 99.9%, then 99.3%, then 98.2%, then a win) I loved the hero-style Zeratul, secret mission and the tunnel missions, loads of fun to try and do it perfectly without losing anything. Must have saved at least 60 times for the hero missions and probably 30 alone for Utter Darkness and about 20 for All In (including hard achievements right after the brutal victory) Engine of Destruction wasn't so bad for me, I got the idea to mass wraiths from someone here on TL when reading about it while taking a break. I just got vikings for the Loki and it was cake. Media Blitz was very hard for me until I said screw it and cleared everything but the final base, camped my army right outside it, moved 3 specters in, nuked missile turrets, sniped tanks and then a-moved to victory. Of course, I also had to throw two nukes at the pitiful defense attempts when I started taking the tower, but that was more for vengeance than necessity. For Haven's Fall without banshees (I saw someone ask), I just got MMM and vikings. Hellions are pretty good, as well. Kill the infestation directly east of you first with your 3 vikings, then kill the infestation north of that while building a lot of bunkers in your base, defend the civilians below your base, kill the eastern infestation, mass bunkers/SCVs to repair south part of base, defend the middle civilians, kill the southeastern infestation, defend the northeastern civilians, then pull everything to the south infestation. Use vikings to snipe brood lords and mutas, stim up and carve enough space into the base for your army, then a-move to the western side. Use mercenaries to defend your base if anything sneaks by. Maw of the Void was pretty annoying for me, I spent 3 hours trying to get the achievement on it (on Brutal for some reason) using the same save and wondering what in the hell I did wrong. Then I remembered a DT died before I saved and started from scratch. ![]()
