Theres no real spoilers in this, but at the second last cutscene where raynor gives his big speech to the marines, he ripped a dog tag of a dead marine, which read M.Koiter. Being the lore nerd I am I searched his name up expecting him being one of raynor's old buddies.

In case anyone else was wondering, apparantly Micheal Koiter was a Blizzard artist who died in 2004 of heart failure, he was only 19. Very nice tribute by Blizzard, very tragic.

there's a grave of him in the barrens. they used to have his beta character's body at his grave too.

But yeah, poor guy. I think there's also a reference to him in WoW, where you can only see a ghost named M. Koiter in spirit form.

Yeah I read about this a couple months ago... It's really good that he's given that tribute though... it's sad that such potential and such a skilled person had to die so young

;_;

at least it was a cool speech though. it's touching

I couldn't imagine having a twin and watching him die in front of me. It definitely makes my heart ache any time I run into an M. Koiter tribute in blizz games.

Wasn't there a tribute ontop of one of the bluffs in old barrens? You had to wall-walk to get up to it, but it had a gravestone and spirit healer looking angel floating there.
I remember finding it by accident way way back in the early days of WoW when I was running around there as alliance and thinking it was touching once I looked it up.
