Set pieces have always been tool number 1 for the not very top teams to stay afloat and take off points of the big ones. Why shouldn't that work when the top teams actually consider them good?

Arsenal is obviously scoring them all the time and Liverpool has conceded something like 10+ goals from corners this season and so on. If I recall correctly, just a few seasons we were looking at how corners had turned into almost obsolete and the odds on scoring from one were all time low. What happened? I think there's a few things behind it. The resurgence of the 'big number 9' striker has probably helped, having those kinds of players goes well with a well worked set piece routine. Some of it will be teams watching Arsenal and realising that perfecting this one thing rockets you up the table, so the meta changes. We had that period where the fad among managers, even managers of promoted/relegation threatened teams like Kompany and that Russell Martin twat, were trying to Pep their way to success (and all of them failed miserably) but that fad has gone now so set pieces have come back into fashion. You can see that that has worked, with Sunderland doing so well and the relegation battle actually looking interesting this season.

Chelsea website Chelsea Football Club and Head Coach Enzo Maresca have parted company. During his time at the Club, Enzo led the team to success in the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Those achievements will remain an important part of the Club’s recent history, and we thank him for his contributions to the Club. With key objectives still to play for across four competitions including qualification for Champions League football, Enzo and the Club believe a change gives the team the best chance of getting the season back on track. We wish Enzo well for the future. Probably hurt Boehly's feelings

Clinging onto his "philosophy" months after Fulham's manager tore it apart in an interview showed that he doesn't have the tactical nous required to manage in the PL. Should've happened sooner, but I'm pretty happy about it regardless.

We're hearing Ruben Amorim had a particularly negative meeting with Manchester United director of football Jason Wilcox on Friday when points were made about his choice of tactics and a change from a back-four [against Newcastle] back to a three-at-the-back in a 1-1 draw with bottom club Wolves. Amorim reacted extremely negatively according to club sources, which could explain his demeanour in the press conference that followed - which he finished by hinting at friction behind the scenes.

Maresca did the same, and Nuno did it to Forest earlier. If you want your juicy payout, you have to come out against your bosses in the media.
