I mean this season I reckon you’re looking minimum mid-high 80s to take the title this season, the big boys are mostly firing on all cylinders. Leicester was a fairytale made by them having that great run in a season where nobody really brought their A game in terms of the usual title suspects. Almost any other season they aren’t winning the league

Everton are the unlucky ones who get to be chosen as the sacrificial lamb by the EPL to show "hey we actually do stuff on FFP." I don't want to see them get relegated this way, kinda just sucks for them.

Going from being kidnapped one week to watching your son score both goals against Brazil to beat them for the first time. A heartwarming end to an awful saga indeed, well done those boys! I still feel Tite [sic] was the best coach Brazil had in a while, didn’t quite get it done in the WC but they’d been quite consistently good. As far as I’m aware he was also of a mind to leave himself, but tournament football has such variance, swings on such small margins and teams can have a bad day. Sometimes it feels too much onus is placed on those results rather than longer term progress. Everton are the unlucky ones who get to be chosen as the sacrificial lamb by the EPL to show "hey we actually do stuff on FFP." I don't want to see them get relegated this way, kinda just sucks for them. It sucks for their fans but I don’t really think Everton the institution can have any real complaints. Everton’s books were a complete mess in FFP terme, it’s somewhat gallling that City are seemingly perpetually avoiding punishment but I guess we have to wait and see there. To let Everton off sets a similarly dangerous precedent that FFP is irrelevant so long as you’re earnestly incompetent rather than devious. And people I think forget too quickly that FFP was as much about reining that in. Not my particular insight but I repeat it in here quite often, if FFP hadn’t of come in when it did, COVID would have levelled European top level football, it wouldn’t have just been Barca near imploding and others struggling, we’d be talking august clubs going bankrupt left right and centre. My worry is if this tips them into relegation then the club is in a whole world of trouble, so for that reason alone I’ll be rooting for them to escape that fate. Luckily in that regard between Bournemouth and the three promoted sides we may have one of the lower point barriers in years to survive in this league.

It sucks for Everton fans but Everton only finished 1 place and 2 points ahead of Leicester last season. I imagine there are plenty of angry Leicester fans right now. Also, it does seem somewhat perverse that when a team overspends hoping that future success and the corresponding increased revenue will balance the books, then the team only gets punished if they fail. Then the punishment makes a drop in revenue more likely with the possibilty of relegation.

Wirtz is so good and shouldnt have been subbed... Also why was Sane able to stay on the field but Brandt was subbed? So many bad decisions...
