It should have been a 2-1 or even 2-2, but there wasn't a 3 goals level difference between the 2 teams. They just couldn't score that 1 goal that would change a lot There's no way they can repeat the 6-1 miracle. They're not good enough for that and Juventus is too good at defending. Totaaaally like the 4-0 against Milan. I guess it was to be expected, you can't turn your level up that much in a few days. And the game against PSG wasn't even that amazing from them. End of the cycle? How do you rebuild a team like that? They have so many 30-something players that won't retire just yet but that aren't hungry enough anymore... what nayumi said. you do a fergie (before his last years) and cut players that arent showing the hunger or no longer have the skill to play. otherwise you end up like man utd and attempt to rebuild from scratch and hope it works. you go further from there and you end up as liverpool or ac milan

sure finding another generation like Xavi, Inesta is not a sure thing but you can never find out if you don't give it a go...
edit: this is also the reason Poch deserves my greatest respect on what he's achieved with Spurs.. he took charge when the team were selling two of their best players (Bale and Modric) and somehow he turned Spurs into a championship contender with the new generation of Alli, Kane, Dier, Rose, Son .etc

But that can only work if the management allows it, and Bartomeu/Rosell have been catastrophic in that regard. I mean, Luis Enrique was already a big risk for them as he's not one to be very diplomatic. Tata and Tito were much easier to 'control'.
I think no matter who they sign next, Barça's screwed for the next few years. Messi, Neymar, Piqué, Iniesta, they're all above the coach in terms of importance. Even Pep couldn't get rid of Cesc, Piqué, Alves on his last year and that's one reason why he left.
The issue is the team isn't that bad, but it can't perform at the level it had before. Not bad enough that it's obvious you need to change everything. As for 'track records', Barça is definitely a place where they screw up a lot. Look at the end of the 90's, beginning of the 2000's, before Laporta took Rijkaard. And now a similar thing is happening. The club is too big to go back to the status they had in these bad eras, but it's not looking like they'll be able to win like they did a few years ago. It was exceptional thanks to an exceptional generation, but it felt like they controlled that success and it could be repeated. Not the case anymore x(

Some infos on the BVB explosions yesterday in the following text in german: http://www.generalbundesanwalt.de/de/showpress.php?themenid=19&newsid=690
The bomb yesterday was equipped with metal pins and one of them was going through the head cushion of a bus seat. Also the blast effect had an range of 100 metres and the explosion was coming from behind a hedge.
Hope the team will be able to play well today...

Correction: Bartras injury was caused by the broken window. The metal pin got stuck in the head cushion. (but in the PC they also left the sentence open ended what would have happened if not...)

Woops right... I mixed that up.

Not the case anymore x( i think barca should be looking to change "everything" within the next 5 years. once messi retires barca is going to absolute shit unless some genius manager comes in with a miracle solution. whether barca fans admit it or not, messi carries the barca "philosophy" and without him barca will end up looking like city. i think the lack of new truly good players from la masia also comes down to the fact that they are trying to replicate a system at youth level which only really works because messi is at the centre of it

Wenger will see this as a challenge to his authority, but senior Arsenal chiefs want an experienced head in to oversee transfers and direct the club's football ethos.
The Frenchman has come under increasing pressure with dire results in recent weeks making a top-four finish look unlikely for the first time in his tenure at the Emirates.
And Overmars, who spent four years at the club, winning the Double with Wenger in 1997-98, is the lead candidate to take the role, according to the Daily Mail.
The Dutchman, 44, is director of football at Ajax, while Michael Zorc, who is in the same role at Borussia Dortmund, is another candidate being considered.
Wenger is expected to be in charge next summer will have £200million transfer fund to radically re-shape the playing staff this summer after what looks likely to be the club's worst league finish since 1995-96 when they finished 5th.
Wenger will oversee the club's remodelling that will see a number of players heading in both directions in and out of the club, according to The Mirror.
Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Olivier Giroud are among the players who could be leaving.

that monaco player was clearly never onside for like 2-3 seconds and the refs don't see it? One of the easier offsides to spot
|
That Dortmund own goal xD That was an amazing finish from the defender

One has to give credit to Dortmund. They are playing vs. Terrorists, the UEFA, the Refs and last but not least a strong Monaco side and they don't give up
|
Yeah Dortmund really picked up the pace the second half. I can see them winning still
edit: welp Mbappe just too good. Sick goal.

Back side is just not cooperating today apparently.

all 3 monaco goals are 99,9% avoidable -.-

Shinji (kinda) saves the day

Great control from Kagawa

FFS Auba
Edit: apparently his shirt was pulled, but I didn't catch the replay.

Ufff. Sad for Dortmund but proud of them under these circumstances. This game is totally open tho. If Dortmund would have a good defense today Monaco wouldn't have scored a single goal today. This game will be decided by Dortmunds defense next game.

Now for Robben vs Ronaldo :D

Rofl Vidal with a header.
Edit: he's 1,80m tall, always thought he was shorter.
